Barry arrived back in the Cortex and he immediately went straight to the treadmill. We were watching him run seeing him running at a normal speed.
"He runs slower even for a normal person." Cisco said
"Cisco, not helping." I said walking towards Barry
"You can't just lose your powers, Okay? Your DNA was transformed by the particle accelerator blast. There is no way to untransform DNA." Caitlin explained
"Yeah, tell that to the Uber driver who charged me 65 bucks to take me here. I had to tell her I was coming from a cosplay party." Barry said breathing heavily
"That sounds fun." I added
"Adaline, not helping." Cisco said
"My bad." I said
"So we were wrong, this metahuman doesn't electrocute people; he siphons electricity, thereby removing your power." Wells explained
"All right, do we think this is temporary or-" Barry said
"Don't think like that Barry." I said
"We have to run tests." Wells said
"Yeah. I've gotta warn Joe." Barry said getting up
"Barry, we will find a way to restore your speed. I promise you that." Wells spoke
Barry nodded before walking out, I quickly followed.
"Barry." I called out
He turned to look at me.
"Let me give you a lift." I said
"Okay, you have your keys?" he asked
"No, I mean." I said looking at the cuff
"Adaline, you know how mad Wells got at you the last time." He said
I looked down at my wrist before looking back at him.
"Do you trust me?" I asked taking off the cuff
"With my life." he said
The lights flickered as I felt my eyes tingle, I smiled at him reaching my hand out. With no hesitation, Barry grabbed my hand and we were in his lab. He looked around, confused and in awe.
"That was so cool." he said
"Thanks." I replied
We stared at one another for a moment before I took a step back.
"I should get going, you need to warn Joe." I said
"Oh yeah, I'll see you back at the lab, or I'll call." He said
"Bye Barty." I said
"Bye Lini." Barry said
The room grew dark and I was now back standing in the hallway alone, I placed the cuff back on before turning to see Wells sitting right there.
"Adaline." he said
"Before you say anything, I'm fine. I don't use it all the time. I let a little out at a time so I don't have the same issue I did months ago." I said walking past him
"He cares about you Adaline." Wells called out
"Like I care about him." I said leaving
