The next morning I walked into S.T.A.R. Labs early to get some emails done for work. Several hours later, I saw Barry walk in with a sample giving it to Caitlin to run as Cisco and I sat at the console.
"Death by apitoxin." Caitlin said
"Honeybee venom." Wells said
"Bee?" I asked
"Why did it have to be bees?" Cisco asked
I turned to Cisco.
"Y'all i don't do bees." Cisco said
"I second that." I replied
"Ain't nobody got time for bees." Cisco said
"Word." I said
"But when a honeybee stings, the stingers are literally torn from their abdomens and they die." Well explained
"But there were no stingers in the body and no dead bees in the car." Barry said
"A honeybee can only deposit .1 milligram of apitoxin when it releases its stinger." Caitlin said
"And yet, Ms. Kang was found with enough venom in her system to kill a herd of elephants. It appears not only as a meta-human controlling these bees but also increasing their toxicity." Wells said
"Bees communicate by releasing pheromones. Maybe this meta's controlling them through secretion?" Barry questioned
"Anyone want to join me in getting a beekeeper suit?" Cisco asked
"Already looking online." I said looking at my phone
Barry grabbed my phone.
"I'm pretty sure I can outrun a bee." Barry said
"Just don't run into a lake, Bees will wait for you to come up for air and then they'll sting out. Discovery Channel, turns out there's a lot to discover." Felicity said
"Felicity, Hey!" I said excited
"Felicity, what are you doing here?" Barry asked
"Can you guys come outside for a sec?" Felicity asked
"Of course." I said walking toward her
We stood outside looking to the sky while Felicity wore a terrified look.
"Is everything okay?" I asked
"Yeah, we are just waiting." She replied
"What exactly are we waiting for, Ms. Smoak?" Wells asked
"Up there." Felicity said smiling and pointing
We looked to the sky and saw a small thing flying about.
"Is that a bird?" Caitlin asked
"It's a plane." Cisco said
The speck came closer landing very haphazardly on the concrete cracking it. My eyes tingled seeing a green hue cover over the six of us.
"It's my boyfriend." Felicity said
"Boyfriend?" I questioned
The robot rose up, removing his helmet, looking at us, waving.
"Hey, I'm Ray." He said excited
"An extravert, another one." I said
We all walked back inside together when Caitlin and I went and began running tests and taking his vitals. After a couple tests, he checked out. I walked out first, Ray kept trying to pop his ears.
"Well my ears popped so that's something." Ray said
"You're lucky you didn't break your neck." Caitlin said
"What is it with billionaires becoming superheroes?" I asked
"So have you picked a name yet?" Cisco asked
"I'm kind of partial to The Atom." Ray said
"You married to that, or..?" Cisco asked
"Don't." I replied
"Your A.T.O.M suit... It's quite the technological achievement, Mr. Palmer. I'm impressed." Wells said
"And he is never impressed." Caitlin said smiled
I rolled my eyes while grabbing my tea.
"Well thank you, but I can't quite seem to keep it up." Ray said
I choked hearing what he said, I began to cough, trying to remove the liquid from my lungs.
"He means the suit." Felicity said
"Yeah, I mean the suit." Ray replied
I looked at Barry who was rubbing his face, surprised.
"I can attest that everything else works just fine. There is nothing we need to fix in...that area." Felicity said
"No, no, no. The sex is great." Ray added
"Oh my..." I huffed
"Oh God, there's two of them." Caitlin whispered
"My head physically hurts." I whispered placing my hands on my head
"I know from Felicity that you have been very helpful to Barry and the Flash suit along with Adaline and her nightwalking and I was hoping to get another set of eyes on my..." Ray said
"Problem." Felicity added
"Problem." Ray repeated
"Any friend of the Arrow is a friend-" Wells said
"Hell yes." Cisco said excited
My eyes grew wide, confused on why we were agreeing to this.
"Uh guys. We kind of have a lot going on already. There's a meta-human killer that controls a whole swarm of bees?" Barry said
"Cool." Ray smiled
I smacked a hand over my face.
"I mean awful." Ray answered
"I'm sure Caitlin, Adaline and I will provide ample support, Barry." Wells said
"And I will be happy to sit this one out." Cisco smiled
"Drama queen." I mumbled
"Dark Chocolate." Cisco shot back
"You..." Barry looked at him confused
"Ray, why don't you stay here and work on your suit while Barry and I run to Jitters for some Javas? You can work with Adaline." Felicity smiled
"Sounds like a plan." Ray said smiling to me
I smiled before looking at Barry, he still looked concerned. I walked up to him pulling him toward the hall. I stopped, he looked down at me, uncomfortable.
"Let it out." I said
"Joe has me questioning if Caitlin and Cisco are on our side and now I'm confused." Barry said
I shook my head trying to wrap my head around the concept.
"You think they are helping Wells?" I asked
"Could they?" Barry asked
"They're my best friends, they couldn't and I won't believe that. I refuse." I said
"Adaline." He said
"Everything will work out." I said
I rubbed my hands down his arms trying to give some comfort.
"Now go catch up with Felicity as I help Ray here." I said kissing him
He smiled as I walked back toward the Cortex.
"Bring me a tea." I called out
"Always." Barry replied
