After Adaline was lying in the Cortex, her arm healed up nicely. Barry went down to the Pipeline, wanting to sit and be alone. Joe slowly made his way down there, spotting Barry staring into space.
"Hey, Cisco told me you were in here." Joe said "How's Caitlin doing?" Barry asked
"He used that light thingie on her. She's fine. Mostly embarrassed." Joe said
"Yeah, thanks for not saying "I told you so." Barry said
"But I did, so I will let Beauty physically tell you. But we told you, repeatedly." Joe said
"I just... man I've seen the way that Oliver does things, and he's not afraid of just doing whatever it takes to get what he needs and I thought that I could do that too. I thought I could just use Snart but instead he used me." Barry explained "You're not the Arrow, Barry." Joe said "No." Barry whispered
"That's not the kind of hero you are." Joe said He walked over sitting beside the speedster. "What kind am I?" Barry asked
"The kind that care about whether or not those criminals lived or died. I mean, whatever Mardon and Nimbus and Shawna did, they're human beings and you knew letting Wells use them as pawns was wrong. You know the difference between right and wrong and you weren't willing to blur the lines between the two. That's the kind of man you are and that's what makes you different from the Arrow. So please... no more walks on the dark side. Agreed?" Joe explained '
Barry looked at his father figure and nodded. He gave a light laugh, with a smile. "Yeah." Barry huffed
An alarm blared causing the two to jump to their feet. "What the hell is that?" Joe asked "Guys...The Particle Accelerator is fully charged and online." Cisco said
"Whatever Wells needs it for, it's ready." Adaline said
The two raced up to the Cortex as Adaline, Caitlin and Cisco frantically typed away on three computers before them. After several minutes of nothing working the three stepped back. Caitlin stayed seated in her seat as Cisco stood behind her staring at the monitors. Adaline sat on the desk, her back to the monitors as they waited for Wells to return. Barry stared at the monitor watching as a figure came into view on the camera. Wells was making his way through the gates, toward them.
"Barry, don't even think about it. Barr, no." Joe said
"You can't go out there by yourself." Caitlin said
Barry stood all the way up, Adaline hopped down standing beside him.
"Barry, listen to them." Adaline whispered
She grabbed his hand, getting the energy vibrating through his hand. "Yeah I can." Barry said flashing out of the room
Adaline's hair smacked her in the face as she hissed at the pain in her shoulder. "Dammit Barry." Adaline hissed
Joe looked at her, her body tense. Cisco walked over, placing his hand on her other shoulder. The three watched as Barry stood in the middle of the courtyard, where all of the construction equipment was, Wells walking toward him .
"Well I heard your prison transfer didn't go so well. I'm sorry." Wells said
"All a part of your plan, I assume?" Barry spat
"Actually, that didn't factor into my plan at all, but I'm impressed you went to such great lengths to keep those people from harm. Ever the hero, huh, Barry?" Wells asked
"You've hurt enough people." Barry said "I know. You see me as the villain, but Barry, if you were to look back, look back carefully at everything I've done, every wheel I have set in motion, you would realize I have only done what I had to do. Nothing more. Nothing less." Wells explained
"And the Particle Accelerator? How does that fit into your grand plan?" Barry asked
"Well why don't you go on inside, and let me show you." Wells said
"You know, I just learned the hard way not to trust the bad guy." Barry said
"And yet...I've shown you time and time again you can't beat me, Barry." Wells said
A red flash radiated from the corner of the screen as Ronnie slowly descended from the skies, his body ablaze. Adaline grabbed Caitlin's hand giving it a squeeze.
"Ronnie." Caitlin said "Firestorm." Cisco added
"Still sick." Adaline said
Ronnie landed on the ground, making his way over to Barry's side.
"Wow, you brought yourself a friend." Wells said
From the left side, a figure swung in, dropping down by Barry and Ronnie. He walked closer, a hood covering his head. "Welcome, Mr. Queen." Wells said
"Hope we're not too late." Oliver said
"You're just in time. I don't care how fast you are. You can't fight all three of us at the same time." Barry said
"Oh, I can't? Trust me. This--This is gonna be fun. " Wells said
The Speedster went at each other, spinning in a giant orange circle as Oliver and Ronnie were at the ready.
"Move Barry." Oliver hissed
Wells threw Barry into the fence, holding by his collar. Ronnie takes off into the sky, as Wells throws Barry into the new glass sign several hundred feet away. Oliver and Ronnie attack Wells, throwing arrows and fireballs his way. With the flick of Wells' wrist, Ronnie was blown away.
"Ronnie." Caitlin gasped
She squeezed Adaline's hand, fear coursing through her. Wells looked down at his leg, an arrow sticking out. "Nanites, courtesy of Ray Palmer. They're delivering a high frequency pulse that's disabling your speed. You're not gonna be running around for quite awhile." Oliver said
Wells threw the arrow down as the two engaged in hand-to-hand combat. Oliver had the upper hand for quite some time but Wells stayed with him. "Come on Oliver, kick his ass." Adaline mumbled
The Man in Yellow vibrates as his body begins to rid itself of the Nanites, Oliver pulls back on his bow about to release the Arrow when Wells grabs him, the two now reversed as Oliver laid on the cold concrete, hood down, face revealed.
"The history books say you live to be eighty-six years old, Mr. Queen. Well, I guess the history books are wrong." Wells said He brings his vibrating hand toward Oliver's chest. "Oliver!" Adaline yelled
A flash of yellow swung by as all that was left behind was Oliver laying there, stunned. Adaline placed her head in her hand, taking a deep breath.
"Oh no, Barry." Adaline said She typed on the computer pulling up another camera angle. Wells got up from the ground staring at Barry.
"That's the spirit. You can't stop me, Flash and you never will." Wells said The two took off leaving the four unable to see what was going on. Adaline got up from her seat, turning and racing out of the Cortex. "Adaline!" Joe called out
"Joe, let her." Caitlin said Adaline rode the elevator down to the ground floor racing out of the front doors, looking around for the speedster. "Barry!" She called out
She ran toward the right, going up the stairs seeing a couple of cars parked down below. She saw a burgundy suit standing by a crushed up car. She took off running toward him.
"Barry!" She called out
He turned, spotting her. She raced at him, basically jumping into his arms. The two held onto one another, nothing else mattering in that moment. "Barry." She whispered "I got him." Barry said She nodded, squeezing him tighter.
"You got him, you got The Man in Yellow." Adaline said pulling him closer
