1.18 You're drinking coffee?

Episode 5:

I was sitting at a table next to Iris and Caitlin while we were in the bar. After an incident in college, I don't drink very much, but who doesn't like a night out. Eddie and Iris were playing Darts when Caitlin as Cisco took the seat beside me. I looked in the distance and there stood Barry beside the bar, he was smiling in our direction. Barry looked over to be looking at Iris, she walked over to the bar speaking to him. I looked back to the TV overhead rubbing my wrist. In the last couple weeks, I haven't taken the cuffs off unless it was to shower and I was miserable. My arms won't stop hurting, I'm not sleeping the best and to top it all off, I've had a headache so large it could possibly kill an elephant. I finally focused back on seeing Cisco and Caitlin staring at someone.

"Who are we looking at?" I asked

"Guys, I have a problem." Barry said

"We all do when guys like him exist." Cisco said drinking his beer

"Yeah, he's so hot." Caitlin said

My mouth flies open, slapping my hand over it to hide my laugh.

"Uh- I mean, genetically speaking, because I'm a geneticist, of course. Oh my god, do I sound like Felicity?" Caitlin babbled

"I'm not talking about Eddie. I'm talking about this?" He said

He threw back the entire tray of shots within a second staring at us.

"I can't feel anything." Barry said

"Yeah, that's usually what happens when you drink too much." Cisco said

My face crumbled.

"No, the alcohol isn't affecting me. I mean I literally feel nothing." Barry explained

My eyes grew wide, realizing what he's saying.

"Damn." I said

"It's your hypometabolism. I need a sample." Caitlin said

"I'll get more shots." Cisco said running to the bar

"I swear, I had a vacutainer in here." Caitlin said looking in her purse

"Wait? You have a blood collection kit in your purse?" Barry asked

"You have your hobbies." Caitlin said

Minutes later, Caitlin, Cisco and Barry were all taking shots as I stared at them in disgust.

"Still nothing?" Cisco asked

"I can't get drunk. I mean I'm only 25, and my drinking days are already over." Barry said

"Welcome to the sober club." I said

"Come on Allen, you're up." Eddie said

Barry stood up when Eddie's phone began to ring. We all looked over to him.

"There was a bombing on 8th and Pass. I got to go babe." Eddie said

Iris pulled him in for a kiss as I looked at Barry. He was already looking at me.

"Sorry guys." Eddie said walking out

"I've got an early shift at Jitters. Barry, we'll catch up tomorrow." Iris said grabbing her purse running off

"It's getting late anyway so I'm just gonna..." Barry said walking off

Cisco, Caitlin and I grabbed our stuff moving to a more private table.

"Be careful, please." I called out

Barry smiled at me, winking and then was gone. I rolled my eyes, walking to the table.
