Iris and I were looking through stuff placing it into moving boxes. I was sitting on the stairs looking through an old box of pictures. I stumbled upon one photo that was of Barry and I, it was right before we started dating. I was smiling looking at the camera as Barry was looking down at me. I smiled remembering those years as Joe came walking down behind me.
"Ah, Mr. Snurtle the turtle. How you been? When did you stop sleeping with this? It was your favorite." Joe said
"He was, but if I remember correctly, you took him away from me after Adaline and I broke your Duke Ellington: Live at the Blue Note vinyl." Iris said
I looked up from the photos, closing my eyes, remembering that day.
"Oh yeah." Joe said
"Mm." Iris hummed
"Grandma Linnie was so mad at me." I said under my breath
"You can have him back now." Joe said
"Oh, gee, thanks." Iris said grabbing the turtle
I looked up seeing the two hugging,and felt a dull feeling in my chest. I shook away the thoughts as the door opened revealing Barry.
"You came to help her pack too?" Joe asked
"Oh no, Iris said she had something for me." Barry said
Iris walked over pulling a red backpack out, handing it to him.
"I found this in my closet." Iris said
We all started laughing. I stood up walking toward Joe, Barry finally seeing me.
"Well the nerd survival kit is still intact." Iris said standing behind him
Barry opens the bag, eyes surprised.
"Wow." He said pulling comics out
"I thought they might be worth something." Iris said
Barry and her held eye contact for a moment before Iris looked at her watch.
"I am so late for work." She said walking to grab her bag and coat.
Joe and I looked at one another before looking back at Iris.
"I promise I will clean this up when I get back, okay?" Iris said
"Bye." Barry said
"Bye yeah." Iris said closing the door behind her
"Okay, mind tell us what's going on between you and Iris?" Joe asked
"Nothing." Barry said avoiding eye contact
"Hmm." Joe hummed
"Yeah, sure." I said
"Well that's funny because I have these two things called eyes and I know damn well Beauty over here ain't that blind, it doesn't look like you two are fine." Joe said
"I told Iris." Barry said
My eyes grew wide with panic.
"You told Iris you are the Flash?" Joe asked
"No, no, no. I'm sorry. No." Barry said chuckling as he got up from the step
"You told her about how you felt about her." I said slightly hurt
"Oh god." Joe said
"Past tense, and I told her that she was the reason I broke up with you Junior year." Barry said
"What did she say?" Joe asked
"Well I mean she understood, she knew it was over. I don't feel like that for her anymore." Barry explained
My heart dropped thinking about Barry liking Iris still, I mean after the last month of what we've been doing.
