Later that night, I walked back into the cortex seeing Caitlin and Barry staring at his suit.
"With or without your speed, You are still you Barry." Caitlin said
"But I'm not. I'm not the best version of myself. I love being the Flash. I love everything about it: the feeling of running hundreds of miles per hour, wind and power just rushing past my face, being able to help people. I'm not sure I can't live without it, Caitlin." He said
Caitlin turned to me, giving me a saddened look before footsteps were heard behind me.
"Farooq Gibran." Cisco said
"Who?" Barry asked
"The power vampire who jacked your speed. I hacked the surveillance footage from the Petersburg substation. Once I got his face it was easy to find a match." Cisco explained
"He climbed an electrical tower the night of the particle explosion." Barry said
"No surprise where he got his powers from." Caitlin added
"I'm so glad I don't have that power." i said
They all turned to me.
"Right, not helping. Copy." I said walking toward the console
An alarmed beeped as I typed into the computer.
"Please tell me this is a joke?" I asked
"This is not happening." Cisco said besides me
"Dr. Harrison Wells, I need to see you! Come on, I know you're inside. Open the door." Gibran yelled
Caitlin and I looked at one another, frightened looking in our eyes.
"I just want to talk to Dr.Wells." He yelled
"Wells! Let me in!" He continued to yell
He walked away out of the view of the camera when the light began to flicker. I looked up seeing everyone staring at me.
"I have the cuff on." I said lifting my wrist
"It must be Farooq." Cisco said typing
Then the entire building blacked out.
"Oh hell no." I whispered
Barry grabbed my hand when the building began to shake, looking toward the exit.
"He's inside." Barry said
Barry begins trying to get a hold of Joe or anyone at the CCPD but no one is answering so decided to call the captain.
"Wait. Captain Singh, I've been trying to get in touch with Joe or anyone in the precinct." Barry said
He stopped and began rubbing his neck, now knowing something is wrong.
"Wait-" Barry was cut off putting his phone away
"What's wrong?" I asked
"Joe and Iris are in trouble. I need my powers back now." Barry said
"I have a theory. It's untested." Wells said
"I'm willing to roll the dice." Barry said
"Okay, you've lost your speed, yes, but nothing has changed inside you on a subatomic level. In other words, your cells are still primed." Wells explained
"They just need a jumpstart." Cisco said
"Okay, how do we do that? How do you jumpstart me?" Barry asked
"We need to replicate the initial jolt to start your system." My eyes grew wide
"But that means a peak current of at least 20,000 kilo-amps." Cisco said
"Are you insane? That's more electricity that they give to people in the electric chair." Caitlin asked
"I don't like this plan." I said
"Caitlin, with Farooq in the building, we're all looking at a death sentence here." Wells said
"Well-" I said
"Keep that cuff on." Wells said in an angry tone
I just stared at him, nodding.
"The spare generator is offline. If we reboot it, we could get a charge that big." Cisco said
"We need something that can transmit the load from the generator to Barry's body without shorting out." Wells said
"The treadmill." I said still looking to the ground
"Adaline, you're a genius. My baby could take the charge."
"What if Barry can't." Caitlin asked
I flitched thinking about the negative outcome of what could possibly happen.
"Well that's up to Mr. Allen." Wells said
I finally looked up to see Barry looking at me before walking away.
"Where are you going?" Caitlin asked
"I'm gonna talk to him." Barry said
"Please be joking?" I asked
"no. No." wells said
"Okay, you didn't see him at the substation. He needed to feed. I got super speed out of the particle accelerator blast, but his best friends died. He woke up with a disease." Barry explained
"Earlier today, you worked at a crime scene where this metahuman elecuted an innocent man. He's a murder! And you are powerless to defend yourself against him." Wells said
"He may just need help like I did. I don't need my powers to offer him that. I have to try." Barry said before walking out
"Can I take the cuff off now?" I asked
"No." He said wheeling away
We were all standing behind the wall as Barry was talking him down. I was standing behind Wells when Farooq was explaining what happened the night of the blast, talking about his friends dying. I stared to Caitlin and Cisco, feeling my heart break for the man on the other side of this wall.
"I know, Wells did this to me." Farooq called out
Wells shook his head, knowing what was going to happen.
"Farooq, you need to listen to me." Barry said
Seconds later Barry was thrown back by a current of electricity. Caitlin and I ran out to get him while Cisco closed the door down.
"Not so sure how long this will hold?" Cisco asked
I lowered Barry's shirt allowing us to see damage done.
"Are you done being noble, Mr.Allen?" Wells asked
Barry nodded leaning against me.
"Caitlin, Adaline, get him to the treadmill. Cisco, bring the generator online. Make sure Barry gets the charge" Wells demanded
"What? You're not coming with me? I am not leaving you." Cisco asked
