Daniel chuckled and turned me around. "Nothing," he muttered, kissing me again. I pulled back, "You ought to get changed," I commented sitting on the bed, playing with Hunter, joined by Daniel a short while later.

We played with Hunter, resting my head on his shoulder. After a while, we laid down, Daniel wrapping his arms around me while we fell asleep.

20th of July

I woke to Daniel's arm lightly around me, I turned and saw the man next to me. He had soft breaths and looked relaxed, so different from what he is like awake. He speaks so fast, like his mouth struggles to keep up with his riot of thoughts. The same thing happens when he writes, his writing is messy and written quickly, when he writes my name, the 'g' and 'r' blend together, and I love it for reasons I could never explain.

I stood up and wrapped my robe around myself and put my inside shoes on before making some breakfast. I put the toast on the table before going upstairs and waking Daniel up, "Come on, you've got synagogue before leaving for the Whitestones, if you want I can pack your bags and meet you at synagogue, or will I meet you here?" I asked, managing to wake up my fiancé.

He sat up and wrapped an arm around my waist and pulled me into a kiss, "I know you don't like going there since you think you'll be looked down on, which wouldn't happen, but I couldn't ever force you," Daniel muttered.

I nodded, "Ok, well, the toast will get cold if you don't hurry," I scolded. I went downstairs to put butter and jam on the toast. I looked and saw that Daniel was only in his undershirt, his office shirt thrown over the top, unbuttoned, and his trousers held up by his suspenders.

I gave him his plate with two bits of toast and got my pieces of toast. We ate, "So, do you want me to pack your bags while you are at synagogue, or are you going to do it once you get back?" I questioned him.
Daniel nodded, "You don't have to, Gretchen, I can do it myself, but if you think it'll save time, you can,"

I nodded and continued eating. Once Daniel finished eating, I took his plate, "Go get dressed and leave for synagogue, I'll wash the dishes, you don't want to be late," I huffed, pouring warm water into the sink.

Daniel nodded and quickly kissed my head before getting changed. After I finished washing the dishes I saw Daniel come down the stairs. He quickly kissed me goodbye before he left for the synagogue.

I went upstairs and started to pack my bags before packing Daniel's bag. I decided to make Käsekuchen (German Cheesecake) since it didn't take too long. After about three hours Daniel came home, "Can you call a taxi?" I asked.
Daniel nodded and called a taxi before calling Alfred, saying we are probably about an hour and a half away.

After a few minutes a taxi showed up, Daniel grabbed our bags while I had the Käsekuchen. Daniel and I sat in the back of the automobile. Daniel grabbed my left hand, tracing the lines of my palm, and veins on the back of my hand, fiddling with the Amethyst ring on my finger.

"Gretchen, when do you want to have the wedding?" Daniel muttered, probably not wanting the driver to hear us.
I sighed, "I'm not sure. We've been saving money for a year, at the rate we are saving at, maybe early-mid 1938 since that's when I graduate, and hopefully land a job at a clinic, or maybe I should work part-time and get my master's? Of course, the wedding would be once I land the job at a clinic, and earn enough to help pay for the expenses," I rattled on.

Daniel chuckled, holding my hand, pulling it to his face to inspect the ring, "Leave it to you to want to continue your education, even once you're married. However, I was thinking we go ring, well, band shopping, even if it's just to get an idea of what we might want," Daniel muttered, gently kissing the Amethyst stone.
I chuckled slightly, "Maybe, but would we have them custom-made?" I asked.
