We continued our routine of waking up, going to Daniel's work, going home to Frau Cohen's pre-cooked dinner before sleeping till the 8th National Socialist Party Congress was over two days later.

After arriving home from Daniel's work, glad that we no longer had to translate we got home, flopping onto the couch, joined by Daniel. "We ought to have dinner, Greta,"

I sighed, taking my hat off, unlacing my shoes before slipping them off. I stood up, "Let us have dinner," I huffed.
We ate dinner in peace, "I'll have to thank your mother tomorrow," I commented, enjoying the meal.

After eating we washed our dishes and put our dishes away. "We should probably wash, you wouldn't want to show to synagogue without having washed in the past days, nor would I want to return to university after not washing either," I said.

Daniel hummed, "Well we shouldn't waste time for much longer," he said, starting to walk to the bathroom, glancing at me when I didn't follow, "Aren't you coming along?" he asked.
I felt my cheeks heat up, "We shouldn't bathe together, it's improper, and I fear I'll feel uncomfortable in the guest bathroom since I haven't used it..." I muttered.

Daniel smirked, walking towards me, his hand on the small of my back, "Gretchen, we've bathed together before, how's this any different?" He questioned.
I glanced to the side, "It isn't, but we know it's wrong, it's bad enough we live together, and have bathed together, we know it's improper, I'm almost certain it's a sin," I reasoned.
Daniel's face turned red, "We can argue that it only applies to lust or pre-marital intercourse," he grinned.

I sighed, "You should know not to put yourself in a situation that causes you to sin, at least that's what I've been taught," I explained (This is what I've been told during a PDH/sex-ed lesson at a religious school... It makes sense it would be applied in the 1930s...)

Daniel sighed, "Gretchen, you are making it harder to convince you, and I'm too tired to argue much more," he sighed.
I wrapped my arms around his waist, "Let us go then," I grumbled, breathing in his scent of oranges and weak traces of soap.

Daniel slowly pulled back, leading me to our bathroom. We got to our room and started to undress, removing my blouse and skirt, leaving me in my undergarments, something I was comfortable enough in front of Daniel. I had my night dress folded on the bed.

I walked to the wardrobe and got my dressing gown, I looked to Daniel who was taking his shirt off, "Do you want your dressing gown?" I asked.
"Yeah," Daniel grumbled, his voice muffled from his shirt.
I got his dressing gown and placed it on the bed, I removed the bottoms of my undergarments, my slip maintaining most of my modesty. I took a deep breath, risking a glance towards Daniel, relieved that he was already tying the rope of the robe.

I slipped my robe on, letting it cover my back as I unclipped my brassiere, putting it in the washing basket. I heard Daniel's footsteps behind me, "Are you just going to stand there and fall asleep?" he asked.

I nodded, "Sorry, I'm just preoccupied with my thoughts," I muttered.
Daniel's laugh rang out as my face went hot,  he had his hand on my hip as he led me to the bathroom.

I put the hot water on and let it run before returning to our room to get our sleepwear. Daniel was checking the temperature when I returned, "Do you like the temperature?" He asked as I placed our sleepwear down.

I checked the temperature and nodded, "Yes, the temperature is ok," I muttered removing my robe, before folding it.
I removed my slip, reaching for my robe again, needing it to feel some closure.

I didn't know where Daniel was, probably checking the water level. I took a deep breath before turning, seeing that Daniel still had his robe tied loosely. After a few moments the water reached a good height and I turned the faucet off.

I felt my heart beat against my ribs. Daniel looked at me for a moment, "Same as last time?" he asked.
I wondered what he meant, Daniel seemed to pick up on it, "I go in first before you do, and have your back to me so I wash your back?" He clarified.

I nodded, my cheeks heating up as I turned around, letting Daniel go in, so hopefully he doesn't feel too embarrassed. Daniel cleared his throat, "you can sit down," I heard Daniel's voice say.

I turned around and saw him looking at me, he had a smirk playing on his lips. I sighed, "Daniel, can you look away," I said, although it wasn't much of a question.
Daniel shook his head, looking at the wall opposite to me, I noticed his eyes were closed, giving me some comfort.

I removed my robe and sat in the bath, my back to Daniel. Daniel's legs were beside mine, pulling me closer to his chest, his arms around my waist loosely, his chin on my shoulder. I brought my knees to my chest, my arms covering my chest, "Daniel, we shouldn't waste much more time," I mumbled.
I heard Daniel chuckle, "If you say so," he said, releasing his arms from around me, reaching for a water bucket and shampoo, "Do you want me to start with pouring water?" he asked.

I sighed, "Ok, just count me in so I'm ready," I muttered. After a while I had finished washing. I turned around while Daniel had his eyes closed, washing his hair and rinsing it.

After a while we finished our washing but stayed in the water. I crave the warmth of the water, feeling relaxed, Daniel's arms loosely around me. I tilted my head back, resting it on his shoulder. "For someone who claims to want to keep their modesty, you have yourself fairly exposed," Daniel commented, I could hear the smirk in his voice.
I glanced at his face, he was facing straight ahead, his eyes quickly glancing down, before looking forward.

I sat up, my face heating up, "Gretchen?" he asked, his legs no longer by my side, his legs mostly likely crossed.
"I think it's time to go to bed," I muttered, "Can you close your eyes?" I asked.

Daniel chuckled, I looked over my shoulder, his eyes were closed. I quickly stood up, drying my body before slipping my nightdress over my head, "You can get out," I said, adding my robe, leaving the room.

I used my towel to dry my hair. I sat in bed and started to read, waiting for Daniel to return. After a few moments Daniel came in, sitting in the bed before we laid down and fell asleep.

A/N
I'm sorry this is such a short chapter,
but I've been working on my own story.
I keep writing in the third person, not first person,
as a result, I think I'm going to take a short break and write the chapters.
Maybe write one chapter in one book then work on the other
