The evening was over and everyone had left back to their homes. Adrian was sitting in the kitchen, listening to the Morales family fight. Eloise sitting across from him with a worried expression. "Why didn't you say something, Emilia!" cried Ariella holding onto her daughter's arms.
"Because I was fine!" said Emilia pulling her mother off her.
"Thats not fine, Emilia!" shouted Hayden.
"Don't worry, they fight all the time." Adrian told Eloise. She made a face and held her hands together.
"You know that I care for you, Emilia, you could've come to talk to me!" said Hayden staring at his little sister.
"WHEN?!" shouted Emilia. "WHEN WAS I ABLE TO DO THAT?"
"Adrian, mijo, why didnt you tell me?" asked Ariella turning to Adrian who made a face.
"Don't bring Ade into this!" said Emilia turning to Adrian. Nick was massaging his temples while their father stood by the door smoking a cigarette. "I didn't want any of you to know! It's not like you really care! What were you going to do, hm? Nothing!"
"Ya cállese." said Diego throwing the cigarette out the door. "Ya no los aguanto!"
"Nunca aguantas nada!" said Emilia narrowing her eyebrows. Adrian sighed, covering his face. "Nobody can tell you anything! You never want to hear it!"
"Emiliá." said Diego narrowing his eyebrows. "I've done enough for you—"
"You haven't! We aren't even a family! We've never been a real family! You've never cared about us unless it had to do with your bloody career!" said Emilia with tears in her eyes.
"I worked to give you everything!" said Diego.
"I didn't need everything! I just wanted my parents! We've never celebrated my birthdays together. . . Christmas, Easter, mothers days, father's day, any family holiday! You two haven't gone back to New York since we've moved here! We haven't gone to Mexico since we've moved here!"
"You'll understand when you have kids." said Diego shaking his head.
"I will never be like you two when I have kids! I will never put my job before them!" said Emilia narrowing her eyebrows.
"Pero eso no importa, Milly." said Ariella softly. "I'm still your mother, you can always talk to me."
"Can I?" said Emilia narrowing her eyebrows. "For what? For you to just leave back to work? Its not like you would be here to comfort me. When Cedric died, you were never there."
"I know what you're feeling, Emilia." said Hayden narrowing his eyebrows. "But moving back to New York?"
"No, you don't know what i'm feeling!" said Emilia narrowing her eyebrows. "You're like them!"
"I'm not!" said Hayden, taken back.
"Ya, this is enough!" said Diego loudly. "You're not a child anymore! If you want to move back to New York, go back! You're grown enough to make your own decisions!"
"No!" said Nick narrowing his eyebrows. "Why would you want her to go back to New York!"
"She doesn't want to be here! She can be selfish and leave everything she has here!" said Diego resting his hand on Hayden's shoulder. Hayden was looking at Emilia who had been staring back at him.
"She is being selfish." said Hayden crossing his arm.
"Fuck you!" said Emilia loudly. The glass around them shattered as Emilia stormed up into her room. Adrian sighed and got up.
