They led Lennox through to triage, at which point the nurse looked at Jay.
"I'm sorry Sir I'm afraid you can't come with us."
"No I'm a cop, I'm police I'm coming with her." He showed her his badge as the doors at the end of the hall behind them opened.
"Jay!" Jay recognised the voice of Lennox's father behind him, and they slowed down as he caught up to them.
"What happened?" "She collapsed ten minutes ago and I haven't been able to wake her up."
"We'll take it from here." He nodded to the nurses, who let go of the bed as he pushed it through the doors with Jay. "You were with her?"
"She wanted to talk she texted me, we've been at the apartment."
"What about Caleb and Skye?" "At the house, she said they were asleep."
He sighed as they rushed through triage to an open space. Jay watched Doctor Rosewood treat Lennox, filling her with fluids to try and flush out her system, and as soon as a bed became available on the ward they took her down to rest. After setting Lennox up on her drips of different medication her father went to log her into the system, Jay so stayed with her in the room, watching from the doorway like a hawk in case anything about her vitals changed. Watching her chest rise and fall gave him a strong sense of relief. The feeling of panic he'd experienced before at the apartment was finally starting to weaken. His phone rang, and in place of the panic, a feeling of anxiety and fatigue washed over him when he saw his girlfriend, Chelsea's ID on the screen.
