"My sister is dead, because of her, why shouldn't she go and figure it out?" Caleb continued.

Jay just shook his head. "Lennox went out there for you. You think her putting herself through hell is gonna bring Sasha back? Do you feel justified? That she's out there? Look at me!"

He pushed Caleb, who's shoulders collided with the wall as Jay let out a laugh. "You lost your sister, and you're willing to lose Lennox too. You were supposed to be her friend, she's putting everything on the line to protect you, to figure this out and make things right, for you! And you're giving up on her, just like that."

At that Caleb shook his head. "No. No, that's not-"

"You are! You know she never wanted this. Any of it. You can blame her all you want but you weren't the only one who lost family. Because that's what you are to her. If you're both too stupid to realise that and something happens to her because of it then that's on you."

His words were enough to make Caleb emotional, but neither of them tried to stop him walking away. He was out of sight when he finally stopped, pacing back and forward for a few seconds and then leaning against the wall to take a breath and calm down. How could they just abandon her like this? He thought. As justified as Caleb might've thought he was, Jay couldn't help comparing what he might've done if he were in their situation. He knew with all of his being that he would've never left her alone like that, regardless of what had happened before this point. How can I find her? Do I tell her father? He needs to know. Jay stood oblivious to the people conversing around him. The nurses walking passed with patients and other hospital staff seemed silent, as though he couldn't hear anything except his own thoughts. In the next two hours he did everything he could, even calling one of the guys in the tech department to try and trace Caleb's phone, but the last time it pinged from any cell tower was just after 5 a few miles from the hospital, so Caleb was right, his phone was turned off - or worse, dead. The knot in Jay's stomach had never been tighter, and was getting tighter with every try to locate Lennox being a dead end, so much so that he was completely ignoring the calls coming through from Chelsea. She was the last thing on his mind right now. Dr Rosewood had been called into several emergencies since discovering that Lennox was nowhere to be found, and after finally getting a free moment at around 8.30, he came to find Jay. He found the detective pinching the bridge of his nose, almost trying to squeeze one more brilliant idea out of his exhausted mind.
