Jay frowned as Lennox went to sit on the couch.

"You had to call someone. I'm just happy you called me."

"No," She shook her head. "You could've been hurt Jay. I never should've asked for your help, it wasn't fair to put you in that position."

"Lennox," He went to sit in front of her, perching on the coffee table. He found himself frustrated, with the intense urge to make her believe that he was happy to do anything she needed him to. Anything. Suppressing his feelings, he took a deep breath and slowly released it.

"I'm glad you called me. I know you're trying to keep me safe from this whole thing, and I appreciate that, I do. But if anyone needs protecting it's you, and I'm happy to do that. Always. I don't care where it takes me, I'm just...I just want you to be safe."

Lennox found herself lost for words. As her stomach began to flood with butterflies she felt an intense pain in shoot through her chest into her head, but because she didn't respond to Jay, he continued.

"And don't be embarrassed about the whole...no clothes, situation."

His statement snapped Lennox out of her speechlessness.

"I'm not. I don't think. Maybe." She felt herself blush again.

"Well don't be. You have no reason to be."

The way he was looking at her made Lennox unsure as to whether he was just trying to calm her nerves or complimenting her. But when she made eye contact with him she couldn't help feeling as if he were looking straight through her. Like she was naked again in front of him. The thought of it made her heart race enough for her to forget about the pain in her head. Just a few seconds of looking into Jay's eyes had Lennox feeling like she couldn't breathe; a feeling she'd experienced a lot recently around him. Luckily her phone rang in the bedroom, drawing her out of her trance. She put the glass of water on the table and stood up, going through to the bedroom and answering her phone as soon as she saw her dad's ID on the screen.

"Dad?"

"Lennox, thank God. I've been trying to call you, and then I got called into a surgery I couldn't get out of, are you okay?"

"Yeah, dad I'm okay. I'm with Jay."
