He glanced at Jay with tears in his eyes, smiling as he looked back at Lennox. "She's a good girl. As much as I've always hated where she goes, she's always come back. That's all I can ask for. I know we're not as close as we used to be. Who knows, maybe that will change. Are you staying?"

"Yeah, if you don't mind."

"No, fine with me. Nowhere you need to be?"

"Uh...no. Not tonight." Jay looked at his phone in his hand as Dr Rosewood observed him.

"I didn't know you were seeing anyone."

The statement caught Jay's full attention, and he put his phone away before shrugging slightly.

"6 months now."

"Wow."

"Yeah."

"Congratulations."

"Thanks."

"Nice girl?"

"Nice enough."

That made Dr Rosewood let out a laugh. "She's good enough to go out with you, that speaks volumes."

"Yeah, I guess. No, she's great. Chelsea."

"Chelsea. How is she? With you on the job? Must be stressful on her."

"Yeah, you know, I sort of laid everything out when we first met, she's still here, so,"

"Good."

"Yeah."

"You know you looked a little riled up when I came in here."

"Yeah, she just...we're not seeing each other that often at the moment, she needs...more than what I can give, you know?"

"Ah."

"And then after today, with Sasha and Lennox being in the hospital, I need to be here, you know? I want to be here, for her."

Jay's eyes didn't stray from Lennox as her dad nodded, glancing at her and then looking back at him.

"I'm guessing she's not being as understanding as you might like."

Jay just sighed. "I just wish she'd try." And Dr Rosewood nodded.
