"Lennox I'm here! Talk to me, just listen to my voice I'm gonna find you." He turned around to walk backwards. "I've got her."
"I'm coming with you."
"No I need you to stay here, just get ready."
He then ran off as he put the phone to his ear. "Lennox can you hear me? Lennox!"
"My leg...it's broken I- I can feel it, Jay there's so much blood,"
"It's alright just stay on the line, I'm coming to find you but I need you to tell me where you are, can you do that?"
"Evergreen, Evergreen forest."
"Evergreen." Jay didn't stop running until he reached his car, hopping inside and turning over the engine with his key and picking up his radio.
"Sarge! Sarge, you there?" He said quickly. The radio crackled a few seconds later.
"What's up Jay?"
"She's in Evergreen forest, trace Caleb's phone I'm on my way to her right now."
"Alright but you gotta wait for back up-"
"She's hurt Sarge I'm not waiting, just send them to her location as fast as you can." Jay's car pulled away fast enough to leave smoke in his trail. "Lennox I'm coming, okay? Do you hear me? I'm coming."
Sergeant Casey knew his detective well enough to know that he'd be the first on the scene. It wasn't the first time Jay hadn't followed a direct order and it certainly wouldn't be the last. To counteract Jay's eagerness he had officers in the immediate area flock to Evergreen forest, the closest squad car arriving just seconds after Jay, and the rest of his team drove from different areas of town as quickly as they could through traffic to backup their fellow detective. Upon arrival, the officers did their best to catch up with Jay, specifically Detective Halloway, as she was holding the monitor that could lead him to Lennox's exact location.
