Together, the two doctors worked in unison to replace Lennox's blood transfusion with IV fluids, but over the next hour Lennox vomited another four times, each expulsion - when added together - containing around the amount of blood that was pumped into Lennox for the transfusion. With her system clear seeming to settle down, she was able to get some rest, with Jay and her father taking shifts to monitor her condition. When off monitor duty, Dr Rosewood took the time to put the blood Lennox vomited under the microscope. Lennox had been administered blood transfusions before, and every time she'd had the exact same reaction to the one he'd seen her have this time. His suspicion led him to run tests on the blood, and obtaining the results rendered Dr Rosewood bewildered. But his first response was not what it should have been as a doctor; he didn't consult Reynolds, or any other doctor for that matter. Instead, his immediate thought was to tell Jay. The detective had stayed with her whilst Dr Rosewood was running his tests, and when he saw him return to the room he went over to meet him by the door.

"Hey, so what's happening? Is she okay?" He asked with urgency.

"Her tests came back fine. Actually there was something I wanted to show you."

"Yeah, what is it?"

Jay watched Dr Rosewood look around behind him, as if making sure that nobody was around to hear what he was about to say.

"Dr Rosewood what's wrong?"

"Nothing, I'm sorry. It's just that...the blood Lennox vomited? None of it was her own."

He observed Jay's reaction, which was to frown in utter confusion.

"What do you mean?"

"I don't know what possessed me to to test it, but I just had this feeling that I needed to. Lennox had two other blood transfusions, years ago now, one when she was 5 and another at 11, and both times she had this exact reaction, her body rejected the blood."

"Wait wait wait," Interrupted Jay. "What are you saying Doc?"

"I'm saying that the blood she threw up was all transfusion blood. Not a single drop was hers."

Jay just looked at him.

"But that's not...how is that possible?"

"It's not. It shouldn't be. Her body rejected everything that wasn't hers. Medically speaking, she's fine; even after losing all that blood, I doubt she's exhausted because of the blood loss, she's exhausted from the transfusion. I don't understand what's happening to my daughter , but I'm starting to get the feeling it's been happening for a long time.
