Skye just nodded. "I know. I just wish you didn't." She smiled slightly as a tear ran down her cheek, and when Lennox offered her a hand she took it instantly, squeezing it in her lap.

Lennox could see how scared she was, and she sympathised. Unbeknownst to Lennox, she wasn't scared at all at the thought of going back to the house. In fact if anything, she felt drawn to it. She always had, ever since she'd discovered it over a year ago. Caleb returned to the hospital room ten minutes later with a bag of personal effects, and after a full day of Skye trying to discreetly convince Lennox not to go, she convinced Skye and Caleb to turn in for the night, with the promise she'd still be at the hospital when they came back to visit in the morning. Jay came to say goodbye to them, and once they'd gone he pulled up a chair from the corner of the room to sit at the foot of the bed. Lennox watched her friends close the door behind them and walk down the hall, at which point she turned back to Jay.

"You're not going too?"

He looked back at her with a cocky smile on his face. "And give you the chance to get out of here? Not a chance."

She just let out a laugh. "Funny."

"I'm not joking, your dad asked me to keep an eye on you."

"No he didn't, you offered." She had him there.

Jay had asked that afternoon if Lennox's father wanted him to stick around, seeing as she'd be more comfortable and likely to stick around if she weren't being watched by a hospital security guard. The smirk on his face gradually faded as his phone buzzed, and she watched him tense as he looked at his screen for a few seconds and then put it away.

"Everything alright?" She asked, hoping the question would encourage him to tell her what she already knew.

He had a girlfriend. She'd noticed him consistently checking his phone throughout the day, every hour or so, and how his demeanor would change everytime he saw his screen.
