Marium's pov

"Kya hua hai janab? Kuch chahiye aapko?(What happened, sir? Do you need something?)" I asked him as why will he stop us if he don't have any work with us

"Kuch nahi chahiye! Aj meri daughter ka birthday hai to mai bacho ko mithai de raha hu. (I need nothing! Today is my daughter's birthday so I am giving children sweets .)" he replied but I didn't understand half of what he said

Today is what? He is a foreigner, which is why he uses half English and half Hindi to communicate, but I don't know English. How will I understand what he is saying? Why will he give sweets?

He forwarded one gold coin towards me, urging me to take it. But I shook my head immediately. He said he would give us sweets, but why is he giving us gold?

"ye lelo Acha lagega (take it you will like it)" he said with a smile

"Par apne to kaha tha ki ap mithai denge janab ye to sona hai (but you said you will give us sweets but it's gold)" Fatima said and that man started laughing

He peeled the golden paper type thing, and a brown thing came into view. He wants us to eat it. He handed each one a chocolate.

And let me tell you, when I ate it I felt like I was in heaven. It's so good, it melted like butter, so soft and smooth. I loved it.

"Sukriya janab, (thank you sir)" we thanked him for giving us this sweet

He smiled and left from there. I will again eat this thing if I can.

Time skip 3 years later

"Marium! Mumtaz Begum ayi hai jaldi ao (Marium! Mumtaz Begum is here come fast)" Ammi jaan called me and I literally ran out to greet her

"Assalam e waleykum chachi jaan! (greetings aunt)" I greeted her and she replied to my greeting

"Aj kya khilaogi Humein? Tumhare hatho ka bana khana khane hi aye hai. Hum akele nahi hai wo bhi hai hamare sath Araha hai.( What will you feed us today? We came to eat your handmade food. I am not alone he is here as well he is coming)" She said and my heart skipped a beat again

He is here. Oh Allah! Am I even looking presentable? I should have checked before coming out.

"Jao Marium wazwan le kar ao andar se (go Marium bring wazwan from inside)" Ammi jaan said and I nodded immediately and went inside

I need to fix myself first, then I will take the food outside.
