"Hey," Evelyn said, hugging Allison as she rushed over. They were in the school parking lot. Evelyn had agreed to spend the day with Allison and Lydia. Scott, Stiles, and Lydia stood just behind the Argent sisters. Evelyn turned, looking across the parking lot to see Derek standing there smiling and talking to a pretty brunette, one of the teachers. Something about the woman felt familiar. "Allison, who's that over there with Derek?" Evelyn asked.

"Jealous are we?" Issac asked, walking up to the group. Evelyn rolled her eyes. She had been hanging out around the loft quite a bit in the last week hanging around Derek, and while the brooding alpha didn't comment on it, Issac sure loved to.

"Why would she be jealous?" Stiles asked, sticking his head between Lydia and Allison to get a look at whatever everyone else was looking at.

"Oh, that's Ms Blake, our English teacher," Scott said.

"Blake," Evelyn muttered, trying to place the woman.

"Why?" Lydia asked, causing all the teens to turn and look at Evelyn. Scott was very curious about the new Argent, wondering if she was going to be like Kate and Gerard or like Allison. He also noticed the awkward tension between the two sisters; Stiles didn't trust her. It was apparent to him she was keeping secrets, and Lydia was just concerned for Allison, worried about how she would react to the sudden reappearance of her sister, who had disappeared from her life six years ago.

"Nothing," Evelyn said. She just seemed familiar. Oddly familiar, she thought it was almost like a ghost. In fact, when she'd first seen the teacher, no, she thought that wasn't possible. "So, girls, what are we doing today?" Evelyn asked Lydia and Allison.

"So I should tell Derek you're not coming over today," Issac teased. Evelyn rolled her eyes.

"Tell me again why I put up with you guys," she asked—turning to leave with the girls. She tried to shake off the nagging feeling that something was off about the English teacher. She didn't notice until it was too late that Derek and Ms. Blake were heading straight toward her. "Shit," she muttered, trying to turn away before Derek noticed.

 "Evelyn," Derek called, seeing her.

"Hey," Evelyn said, turning to face him, plastering a fake smile on her face.

"This is Jennifer," Derek said, introducing the teacher.

 "Hello," Evelyn said.

"This is Evelyn," Derek said. "She was my best friend in high school."

"Yep, that's me, the best friend," Evelyn said, "who's currently late for a day with her sister." Evelyn gestured toward her father's car as she spoke. He had let her borrow for the day since she only had her motorcycle. She was in the process of getting something bigger that wouldn't be noticed as much, but it was taking time, considering that she had utterly erased any trace of herself when she'd left Beacon Hills six years ago. "It was nice meeting you, Jennifer, but I haven't seen Allison in a long time." Evelyn knew she was being slightly rude, but she wanted to get away from Derek and Jennifer. The combination of jealousy and an odd gut feeling telling her that something was off about Jennifer was driving her insane.

"Oh, I didn't know Allison had a sister," Jennifer said.

"Yeah, I've been out of town for a while. I just got back," Evelyn told her.

"Well, it was nice to meet you," Jennifer said. Evelyn nodded, turning and walking away.

"What was that about?" Allison asked.

"What?" Evelyn said, sliding into the car.

 "You and Derek," Lydia said.

Evelyn sighed. "It's history," she said, "and besides, today's supposed to be fun, not about werewolves and hunters or family drama." But she couldn't keep herself from looking back for one more look at the alpha werewolf.
