Evelyn opened her eyes, looking around. No, not again, she whispered as she recognized her surroundings..she had been having the same dream ever since the night she had seen the wendigo, dreaming of the night her mother had died. Except the last few months, it had changed; instead of watching her mother die if she walked through any of the doors, she found herself in the school. Mom, Evelyn heard. She looked to see a younger version of herself standing by the bedroom door. Mommy! she screamed. Evelyn hid her head in her hands as she heard a scream from outside the door. She knew it was her mother's on instinct, she leaped forward, rushing through the door. She tumbled through the door, finding herself in the woods of Beacon Hills. She looked up to see a young, dark-haired woman standing over a dead body. Suddenly, Gerard walked out of the trees, talking to the woman. Suddenly, the scene melted away, and Evelyn found herself in the tunnels. Scott and Malia were there facing Gerard and what looked like several hunters. Several more scenes flashed before her eyes before she found herself in an old storage lot just outside of town. She looked around. There were bodies lying at her feet, and bullets were flying through the air. Evelyn knelt down, looking at the body right next to her feet. Rolling it over, she let out a gasp. It was Malia. No, Evelyn cried, standing back up. She looked around. Some of the bodies were dressed like hunters, and some were in regular everyday clothes. Then her eyes fell on a body leaning up against the wall, an older man, Deucalion, she whispered. Evelyn looked to the side to see two people curled into one another teen: one a strawberry-blonde girl, the second a brown-haired boy who had the girl shielded in his arms. No, Evelyn whispered, starting to realize what she was looking at who was around her. No, she screamed, rushing toward the two. Lydia, Stiles, she shouted. Grabbing them, Lydia fell back into her lap. No, she sobbed. No, Evelyn screamed, looking around. She saw Scott only a few feet away, black blood covering him. No, no, Evelyn screamed, looking around and seeing all of the pack. Liam lay next to her, barely breathing. Dad, she screamed as she caught sight of him a few feet away from Scott. Letting go of Lydia, she rushed over to him. No, no, she screamed. Please, please wake up! she begged. Holding Argent and shaking him, she knew he was gone, though he was dead. Evelyn looked up as she heard a loud growl. Derek, she gasped as she saw him rise off the ground and charge at the hunters who were shooting. No, she screamed as several bullets hit him, causing him to fall to the ground. Derek, she screamed, running forward. Evelyn Derek whispered, reaching out. Evelyn looked down at him, but she realized he wasn't looking at her; instead, he seemed to see right through her like she wasn't even there. Evelyn followed Derek's eyes to see that he was looking at another body. She stepped over as he laced his fingers through the woman's. Turning her over, Evelyn gasped. It was her lying there, her body filled with bullets. She was dead. This isn't real, Evelyn whispered; standing up, she backed away. Tears streamed down her face as she looked at her friends and her family as they lay dead around her. But it could be some part of her screamed. If she didn't go back, they could all die.

Evelyn gasped awake, jolting upwards. Everything that had happened in her dream rushed through her mind as she tried to catch her breath. Hey, Derek said, waking up at the sound of her panicked breathing. Hey what's wrong he asked gently laying a hand on her back I have to go back Evelyn whispered. What what's going on Derek asked. Evelyn shook her head. I-I can't, she whispered, her head spinning. She knew that not telling him might mean she would lose him, but she felt like telling him was too dangerous. Can we just talk in the morning? She begged, knowing he would want to know the truth. She had woken up screaming several times in the last month, and he was worried, but her gut was telling her that he couldn't come. He needed to stay here. Eli needed him. Derek nodded, lying back and pulling her with him. Evelyn lay down, lying her head against Derek's chest, listening to his heartbeat, the steady rhythm calming her. She knew this could be the last time she fell asleep to the sound of his heartbeat. She'd already made the decision she was going back to Beacon Hills, but Derek and Eli would stay here. The fairytale was over. It was time to get back to reality.
