Evelyn settled into the bunker they had decided that it would be better for the kids to have a familiar face. Don't touch that Argent said as one of the teens picked up a taser he fired it. Argent sighed grabbing it from him what's all this for he asked. Your protection Argent said. Evelyn sat in the back watching as Scott argued about who was going she knew she should go. I'm coming with you she said walking over to Scott. No Argent said. I'm 24 not 12 Evelyn said I can handle myself. You can't even see them Argent said. I'll be fine I've been in worse places before Evelyn said before running out after Scott. What you said about being in worse spots was that true Scott asked. No Evelyn said not being able to see who you're fighting just about tops it, but it makes him feel better if he thinks I'm prepared and I don't want him worrying about me Evelyn said.

Argent turned around quickly aiming his gun at Malia who came running down the tunnel. Thanks for coming he said lowering the weapon. You needed my help Malia said. I need a babysitter Argent said I'm not the baby sitting type coyotes eat there young Malia said turning away. You could have killed me last night Argent said or worse Melissa he added he knew all the kids regarded her as a mother figure even Evelyn did and if he was being honest with himself he cared for Melissa more then he was ready to admit. Job stress Malia interrupted. It wasn't a werewolf Argent told her it was a hunter he said and she made excuses made a very convincing case that lethal force was necessary but it wasn't and if I had done something that night then maybe my sister wouldn't be the monster that she is today maybe my daughter wouldn't have lost everything twice. Kate Malia said knowing the thousand stories she had heard having only met the woman once she didn't know how much was true but she could smell the greif on Evelyn every time she spoke of her aunt. Argent sighed. Animals loose control he said you're not just an animal you're also human you stay that way by getting involved by caring they both turned to look as an emitter went off from inside the bunker.

Evelyn jumped out of her car I'll check the bleachers she shouted to Scott rushing toward the field. She slipped into the stands her gun in her hand hidden in her jacket pocket. She watched as the others walked onto the field. This is going to be a long night she muttered. She stopped at the last row slipping in next to Mason. You have a plan he asked. Besides shooting our way out of here no she whispered back. They both sat there for a while Mason thinking Evelyn listening to her supernatural senses for any danger. Parrish Mason said suddenly. What Evelyn asked. Parrish he said again. What about him Evelyn asked. He's a hellhound Mason said you have his number right he asked. Mason something is coming get Hayden tell her to call her sister Evelyn said. Mason nodded rushing off. Evelyn stood up slipping back behind the bleachers she checked her gun to make sure it was ready to fire. She rushed forward as she heard a loud whinny. Where are they she called to Scott standing on the edge of the field. Suddenly it was raining so hard the sky went dark everyone was running into the stands. Evelyn could hear coach yelling but she was trying to see something anything in the low visibility. Scott she shouted running onto the field. Suddenly people from the stands started running. Evelyn couldn't see what they were running from but she could feel the danger she felt utterly helpless. She couldn't find Scott couldn't save anyone. Suddenly she heard a loud roar Liam she yelled recognizing the sound. She rushed forward toward the noise to see a group huddled in the rain. They were one down she thought someone was missing. Scott, Liam she yelled running forward. Evelyn pushed past something invisible reaching them. We can't get through Scott shouted. Where are they Evelyn asked. No Scott yelled as another person disappeared. Suddenly Scott relaxed slightly they're gone he said Evelyn sighed. Except the danger wasn't gone. Dad she yelled realizing who was in danger. She turned taking off at a sprint back to her car.

Scott I can't talk right now Evelyn said as she answered her phone. He's at the hospital Scott said your dad Malia took him there He's injured but doing OK. I'm on my way Evelyn said quickly turning around she floored the gas heading for the hospital.

Dad Evelyn shouted rushing down the hallway to see Melissa rolling Argent into a room. She sprinted forward. He's going to be fine Melissa said he needs rest but he's going to be fine. Dad Evelyn whispered looking down at her father they hadn't always had the closest relationship but he was the last bit of family she had left. I'll be fine monkey Argent mumbled reaching out and grabbing her hand. Evelyn sighed at least he had the mental faculties to try and comfort her using her childhood nickname that he only used now when she was upset the nickname she had gained from always climbing on things. She sat down in one of the chairs by his bedside keeping a watchful eye on him she could feel the fatigue from the last few weeks start to creep up on her. Her eyes sliding closed as she drifted off to sleep.
