Evelyn pulled into Beacon Hills, a sense of unease and urgency filling her. Lexie, I want you to stay in the car, Evelyn said as she pulled up to the school building. But I can fight, Lexie complained. Stay here, Evelyn said. After Lexie had figured out the whole truth, Evelyn had let her practice hand-to-hand with some of the younger werewolves in Cora's pack, the ones who couldn't shift yet. She knew basic defensive moves, but Evelyn wasn't willing to let her into fights. Evelyn had already been trained by the time she was seven, but she wanted it to be Lexie's decision. She never had a choice on whether she was a part of the supernatural world or not. She wanted Lexie to have that choice. Even if she already knew about the supernatural world, she could still have a semi-normal life. Stay here, Evelyn repeated don't get out of the car. She pushed open her door, darting into the school building. Scott, she shouted as she felt a pain as if someone was ripping a hole in her heart, a familiar feeling by now. He was dead. No, she shouted, rushing into the library. She slid to the floor next to him, Scott Scott. She heard someone yell behind her. Evelyn looked up to see Melissa running into the room. She immediately started to do CPR, ignoring Mason's objections. Evelyn placed her hands on the wound on Scott's chest come on, Scott she whispered. Come on, Scott, roar Melissa shouted, pounding on Scott's chest. The true alpha jolted up, roaring back to life. Lydia Evelyn whispered, jumping up what Melissa asked. Evelyn just bolted out of the room, leaving the other three behind. She had to save Lydia. She couldn't lose the young banshee.
