Evelyn sat in the morgue, listening to the others talking. Yeah, but he said that he didn't want my dad dead, Stiles said. And you believe him? Parrish asked. I do, Evelyn said, standing up. No offense but you don't know this kid Parrish said. I know him better than you think, Evelyn said, stepping closer. I also know the best way to lie to a werewolf. What is that? Scott asked. The one useful piece of information Gerard taught me you don't lie. You just omit the truth what Stiles asked. Theo, did he ever actually lie to you, Scott? Straight out lie? He probably did it once you have to when you're selling a story, but I'm willing to bet most of what he said was just his warped version of the truth. He said he wanted a pack, your pack, Scott. He did, just not with you in it, which is why I'm willing to bet that when he said that he didn't want Stlinski dead, he was telling the truth; he wanted to tear you all apart make you believe that he was better as a leader than Scott he wanted everyone to believe him. He damm near pulled it off again, but he's smart enough to know killing Stlinski would take away any chance of getting Stiles, Evelyn hissed. What do you mean again Stiles asked. Nothing, Evelyn said. If you think that Theo can save your father, then go see him, Stiles, but don't go alone, Evelyn said, walking out of the room.

Evelyn Parrish shouted, running up to her as she walked out of the hospital. I'm not talking about Theo, Evelyn said. It's not about Theo it's about Lydia Parrish shouted. Evelyn froze, spinning around to face the deputy. What's going on? She asked. They're taking her somewhere. I can't get anything out of Ms. Martin, but I don't think it's good Parrish said. Eichen Evelyn breathed. She pushed past Parrish, running back into the hospital. Ms Martin, you can't, she said, catching sight of the woman. I can do what I think is best for my child the woman said, walking away. Just listen to me, Evelyn said, knowing Eichen wasn't safe for Lydia for any supernatural really. Evelyn, stop Parrish said, grabbing her arm and pulling her back. He was surprised to find that she was shaking slightly. I can't save her, Evelyn muttered as they watched Lydia being loaded into the back of an ambulance. I'm going to find a way to get her out of there Parrish told Ms Martin as she climbed into the back of the ambulance with Lydia. Even if I have to break through the walls. Please listen, Evelyn begged. It's not safe, not for Lydia. Evelyn begged. Trust me when I say I would do anything to save her. I-I can't, Ms. Martin said as they closed the doors. The woman wasn't ready to believe in the supernatural world around her. Good luck with that deputy a doctor that Evelyn recognized as Deaton's friend said except there was something different about him as he walked away. Evelyn pulled out of Parrish's grip. Alan says hello she yelled. The man didn't even respond continuing to walk forward and getting into the vehicle. Evelyn looked down as her phone buzzed. It was a withheld number, but the message told her exactly who was texting her. I need to go meet someone she said. I'm coming with you Parrish said. I can handle this myself, Evelyn told him. Parrish shook his head as she turned, running off. I'm going to regret this, he muttered, following her, making sure to stay far enough back that she wouldn't notice.

Evelyn pulled up to the ruins of the Hale house. If you were looking for neutral ground, you need a lesson on the meaning of the word Evelyn shouted. Well, that's interesting since you're the one who taught me. Thanks for the fighting lessons. They really impressed, Scott Theo said from behind her. Evelyn turned to face him. What do you want Evelyn asked. I want to know how Lydia is Theo said. Bull, Evelyn said. You might be able to lie to Scott and Stiles and the rest of the pack, but not to me. Evelyn said. What do you think they'll do when they find out that you're the one who taught me how to do it? Theo asked. Personally, he said I think they'll be pretty pissed that you didn't warn them. Just think, Evelyn, all the power you could have had if you had joined me back then, he said, circling her. Maybe enough power to save Lydia, maybe he whispered into her ear, maybe even enough to have saved Allison. Stop it, Theo Evelyn hissed. What do you want? Oh, just to catch up, I was intrigued when I found out that you had bonded with the pack of the true alpha. Leave them alone, Theo Evelyn spat, if you touch them. You'll what he asked kill me because I don't think you can not without bringing out the monster inside the one you've buried so deep that not even Derek knows about it. Evelyn whirled around to face him at the mention of Derek. Yes, I know about your precious Derek Hale he said. Don't worry. I'm not going all the way to South America to find him, but maybe you, Evelyn, or should I say that old you before you implemented this code, the you that destroyed half the alpha pack she, would be a great addition to my pack. Evelyn froze, remembering what she used to be. Theo knew a secret about her that could destroy her carefully built life here. A secret that, if it got out, would make the pack fear and hate her. She looked down as her phone buzzed. It was Stiles saying his dad was OK. I'm leaving Evelyn said, turning and racing off. She got about two miles in her car before she noticed that someone was following her. When she looked in her rearview mirror to see it was Parrish, she sighed. She would have to talk to him later.

Evelyn pulled into the parking lot for her apartment building. She had periodically checked on Lexie throughout the day, but she knew that the young girl was safer in the apartment than out with her. Lexie, she called, walking in. Mom, hey, Lexie called back. Do you want to go visit Melissa at the hospital Evelyn asked. Yeah I can show her my new stuffed animal that I made with aunt Cora Lexie said I think she'll be impressed by my stitch work Evelyn smiled Lexie had decided that she wanted to be a nurse just like Melissa when she grew up.

Walking into the hospital, Evelyn froze, surprised to see that Melissa wasn't alone at the nurse's station. No, there was a guy there. Wait, Evelyn thought, realizing who the guy was that was her father. Argent was standing leaning on the desk, smiling and talking to Melissa. He's flirting. Evelyn realized it was very subtle, but she knew him well enough to recognize the signs he liked her. She smiled, happy to see him happy. Melissa! Grandpa! Lexie shouted, running toward them. Argent looked up, surprised to see his daughter and grandchild standing in the doorway. Hey, kid, he said, picking up Lexie and giving her a big hug. Melissa came out from behind the desk to give her a hug as well. After setting Lexie on the floor so she could talk to Melissa, Argent walked over to Evelyn. I thought you left with Derek he said did he come back to. No, no, he didn't, Evelyn said. You want to talk about it Argent asked. She sighed, walking over to the first set of chairs. Sinking into one, she looked over at Lexie and Melissa. She couldn't remember much of the dream she hadn't been able to since that night just the awful feeling that something bad was going to happen. Something is coming, she said. The last chimera Argent said. No, Evelyn muttered something worse. She looked up to see that Lexie had bounced over to Malia, now sitting in her lap, playing with her hair happily, talking to Scott, who sat next to Malia. All three of them were smiling, safe for now. I can't explain how I know, but something is coming, something worse than a chimera. Something that might destroy us all, Evelyn whispered.
