Evelyn woke up to the sound of distant voices. "Lydia!" she called, crawling to her feet as what had happened came flooding back. She could hear Stiles and Lydia in the distance, but she knew it wasn't Stiles but the nogitsune. "Lydia!" she called again, clawing her way along the tunnel wall. She felt weak. The world around her was spinning, and her head was pounding.

"Oh good, you're awake," the nogitsune said, walking into sight.

"Where's Lydia?" Evelyn spat. She took another step and tumbled down steps straight into Lydia, who sat at the bottom. "You won't win," Evelyn said, struggling back to her feet using the bars of the grate behind her. The nogitsune laughed, walking closer.

"I will," he hissed menacingly, leaning over her, "and I think that you can feel it even now with the poison coursing through your veins that even if I don't win, I will take from you what matters most." He turned, walking away. Evelyn slumped down against the metal grate behind her, sitting next to Lydia. The nogitsune was right. She could feel it. Someone was going to die if she didn't stop it, someone that she loved, but unlike the last few times when she could tell who, and even with a little focus where they were, everything was too blurry for Evelyn to focus.

"He's right." Evelyn whispered, "We're losing; I can't stop him." Lydia reached out, grabbed Evelyn's hand, and squeezed it tightly. Evelyn could feel the banshee shaking with fear. She could feel it, too. Death was coming. "I'll find a way," Evelyn whispered, looking over at the young banshee.

"We'll find a way," Lydia said, standing up and pulling Evelyn with her.

"It's too late," the nogitsune said from behind them. "They're already here."

"You're scared, aren't you," Lydia said, "because they're going to kill you."

"That's why I'm keeping you so close," the nogitsune said. He grabbed Lydia's arm and pulled her away.

"Lydia!" Evelyn shouted, trying to run after her, but she tripped on the stairs. Suddenly, Evelyn felt it. Allison Allison was who he was going to take. "No," she gasped, pulling herself to her feet. Evelyn stumbled up the stairs, clawing her way along the tunnel as she fought to reach her sister. She kept stumbling down the tunnel until she saw an exit. She made it out in time to see an Oni plunging a sword into Allison's chest.

"ALLISON!" Lydia yelled from behind her. Evelyn crumbled to the ground, a hollow feeling blossoming inside her as she watched Allison fall into Scott's arms. A soundless scream escaped her throat as she watched her sister die. She began to crawl forward, but she knew Allison was gone. The nogitsune was right. He had taken the person who meant the most to her, her little sister, the one she had always protected her heart. Evelyn stopped moving, giving in to the poison. She lay crumpled on the pavement. There was no point in living without Allison.
