Feeling a puddle of wetness between her legs, Blanche awakes from her sleep. Hearing Grey's light snores, she glances at him before quietly grabbing her phone of the nightstand. Turning on the flashlight, Blanche pulls back the sheets, examining where the wetness was coming from. Panic fills her heart, as she sees red blood staining the sheets. She nudges Grey, trying to wake him up and turning on the light that sat on her nightstand. Being the heavy sleeper that he was, Grey didn't budge.
"Grey wake up!" She frantically pleads, shaking his shoulder as he begins to stir in his sleep.
"What's wrong, ma?" Grey sleepily, questioning, rolling over to face her.
"Call 911!" Blanche yells, unable to move, feeling more blood drip down her leg. Hearing the urgency in her voice, Grey eyes shoot open. He rises and see the blood on the sheets. Grey jumps up, grabbing the phone and dialing 911. Blanche begins to cry as her thoughts begin to take her to a negative place. Not again, God, please, she silently pleads to herself, feeling her chest tighten, suddenly unable to breathe.
"Grey, I can't breathe." She panically tells him, grasping for as and he rushes over to her side of the bed. "Focus on me, ma." Grey tells her, doing a slow breathing exercise with her as the operator comes on the line "911, what's your emergency?"
"I need an ambulance. There's blood everywhere." Grey says to the operator, before telling her the address. Blanche lies back, feeling lightheaded and the room becomes dizzy.
"Calm down, sir and tell me what happened." The operator says.
"My girl is pregnant and there's blood everywhere!"
"Okay sir, we're dispatching a unit now. Try to keep her calm and stay on the line." Grey tells the operator okay before facing his attention back on Blanche. He prayed that what ever was wrong was only a fluke and that their child would be safe.
