Nakatitig ako sa kisame ng kwarto ko at buhay na buhay pa ang diwa ko kahit na alam kong maya-maya lang ay sisilip na ang haring araw. 

I think it's been three days since Angel told me about surrogacy and to be honest, I spent most of my time looking and reading articles to understand that thing.

I don't know what to say. I closed my eyes tightly and forced myself to sleep even if only for an hour. I'm just waiting for my alarm to go off to work.

Ngunit imbis na makatulog ay bumalik sa ala-ala ko ang pinag-usapan namin ni Angel nang gabing 'yon bago kami nagkahiwalay.

"Bernadette, please."

Agad akong umiling. Oo nga't nakapagbitaw ako ng salita kay Angel na gagawin ko ang lahat para sa kan'ya katulad na lang niya sa akin ngunit hindi ko alam kung ano ang hinihiling niya.

Hindi ko alam kung ikakabuti ko ba 'yon. 

Wala talaga akong ideya tungkol sa bagay na 'yon. 

"Angel, h-hindi ko kasi alam ang tungkol sa bagay na 'yon," mahina at kabadong sabi ko kaya naman natigilan si Angel.

"There are different types or names for surrogacy, but we are going with the traditional one."

Base sa pagkakasabi ni Angel ay tila napapayag na niya ako kaya naman agad akong umiling. 

"Angel, wala talaga akong ideya sa sinasabi mo," natatakot na sabi ko. Nag-aalangan din akong tumanggi dahil sa kadahilanang natatakot ako na hindi mauunawaan ni Angel. 

"Bern---"

She din not finish what she intended to say to me when I suddenly spoke.

"Angel, hindi ba pwedeng iba ang gumawa niyan para sa 'yo?" mahinang tanong ko kaya pinakatitigan ako ni Angel.

"That's why I want you to be our surrogate so I don't have any problems. I can even hide from Xandro and to his mom that I can't bear a child," she whispered which is the reason why my eyes suddenly widened.

Itatago niya kay Xandro na baog siya?!

"Bernadette, this is just a traditional surrogacy where you will carry the child in your womb that you will give to us after you give birth. You will be considered the child's biological mother because the egg cell that will be fertilized by Xandro's sperm will come from you."

Agad akong nagmulat ng mga mata nang marinig ko ang malakas na pagtunog ng alarm clock ko. 

Napabuntong hininga ako at napasabunot sa buhok ko dahil wala na naman akong tulog.

I immediately got dressed because I had to be early today. I have to arrange Xandro's schedule and his conference meeting today is one after the other in the various businesses he holds. Sometimes it's like I'm his personal assistant because of the amount of work I do.
