I hope this is angsty enough for you Lightwhisker1
"Stop following me!" Jason shouted as he swung away, Dick following closely behind.
"I just want to talk," Dick called back, stumbling to a halt when Jason suddenly swung into an alley and stopped.
Dick looked up at Jason to see the barrel of a gun pointed at him. "So talk," he practically hissed.
"Jay," Dick started, taking a step away from the gun, only to have his back hit up against a wall.
"You don't deserve to call me that," Jason snapped, stepping forward and placing the gun against Dick's chest.
Dick tried to stamp out the fear that was welling up in his chest. Jason wouldn't hurt him... he was his brother... "Jason, please stop this," he begged. "You're a good man... you don't need to kill to bring people to Justice."
"Each person that I kill is another criminal that will never be out on the streets of Gotham again," Jason spit back. "I'm saving lives."
"What about the ones who would have changed?" Dick asked quietly.
"You think a few years in a cell is enough to change these types of people?" Jason said with a mocking laugh. "These people are irredeemable. They'd still deserve to die even if they changed."
"Nobody deserves to die Jason," Dick insisted.
"Yeah? What about me then? What about Joker?" Jason's voice shook for a moment before becoming steely calm. "I'm getting rid of the Jokers of this world before they get the chance to kill more innocents."
"It's not your job to be judge, jury, and executioner," Dick said softly. "People are worth trying to save... no matter how damaged they are."
Jason grit his teeth. "So that's why you're here. To save my damaged soul."
"You're part of our family Jason... come back to us," Dick pleaded.
"Stop," Jason growled.
"We need you, Bruce needs you," Dick said quietly.
"I said stop!" Jason shouted, pressing his gun even harder against Dick's chest. "You're done."
Dick whimpered quietly. "We love you Jason," he said, looking at his brother's masked face.
"You're determined to die with a lie on your lips?" Jason snarled in response, finger squeezing down on the gun's trigger.
A shot rang out and Dick stiffened, the whites of his mask widening. "We... we l-love you J-Jason," he whispered as he fell forward.
Jason stared at Dick's body for a moment before what he'd done sunk in. He fell to his knees, frantically putting pressure on the wound in his brother's chest. "No no no no no no no," he mumbled. "I... I'm sorry... I... I didn't mean to..." Jason sobbed. 'What have I done?' Running through his mind in a loop.
Dick struggled for breath for a moment before falling still, his blood drenching Jason's hands and coating the ground.
—
Jason stumbled into the cave, Dick's lifeless body in his arms. He thought it only proper to take him home one last time...
Bruce stood when he saw Jason, only to fall back into his seat when he recognized the body in his arms.
Jason set Dick gently on a gurney, ignoring the fact that the deathly pallor of his brother's once golden skin seemed almost to match the white of the bed.
"Wh... what happened?" Bruce asked quietly, grief clear on his face.
Jason grit his teeth, trying to keep his tears from falling as he walked away with his head hung.
"Jason," Bruce called. "Please don't go... I can't lose two sons tonight."
Jason stopped, not even turning. "You don't want me here," he said. "I was the one who killed your son."
Bruce froze, unable to do anything other than stare at Jason as he walked away.
Tim had tears streaming down his cheeks, as did Alfred and even Damian who wailed inconsolably and clutched at Tim's shirt like a child.
And if they could've seen Jason's face, they'd have seen that he was crying too.
