Commander Hunt's words from last night have really stuck with me. What if this whole mission is really all for nothing. What if after all we have sacrificed, and all the time and effort we've spent pulling off this mission we accomplish nothing.
The truth of this mission is we can do everything right and the result can still be we learn nothing about Europa. Unless we do discover life on the icy moon all of this would have been for nothing. We couldn't even say definitively that there is no life on Europa. All we could say is there is no life on the small section of the moon that I felt was promising.
Maybe I was wrong. Maybe the Chinese researchers had selected a better place to look.
All of these questions were meaningless. There was only one way to find the answers.
