It seems like while there was damage done due to the ice quake, everyone at the drill site was alright. Today Commander Hunt arrived on the humvee and noted only the communication systems were damaged, and the drilling at the first site has continued as planned. He would be taking me and Lee up to the first drilling camp so I could be ready to process any data given by the drill and so Lee could work to compare the communications. Once the communications were restored he would take Horvat and Lee back to begin setting up a second mining location, which would be placed in the position I had noted was more promising.
I am excited to finally have a role. I only hope that Lee will be able to restore the communications soon. Before we left, I made sure to send a message to my family, letting them know I would not be able to respond for a few days and that all is well.
