Apparently the Chinese team has claimed Europa in the name of China. We have been informed by NASA this morning.
What does that mean for us? Absolutely nothing as the short answer.
No nation can claim ownership of space, the moon, or any other planetary body. Even an asteroid cannot be claimed until it is brought down to the Earth's surface for harvesting.
What it does mean however is that the Chinese team intends to be a nuisance to us and disrupt our mission as much as possible. This is the last thing we need now considering we are so close to being ready to deploy the submarine.
