The communications are still down, but Commander Hunt has decided to take Horvat to the second drilling location to get a head start. For now here at the first drilling location we only have each other, with no way of communicating to NASA, our families, or Commander Hunt and Horvat.
Personally, I think it would have been a better idea to wait. Splitting up especially while we are having communication issues is a gamble. Still, it is important to our team to have a solid edge by the time the Chinese team arrives. We did not come all this way to become the second group to discover life on Europa.
In all the planning Commander Hunt did not even mention the whole video game thing. That is how you know he was serious.
