My son called to remind me that I am coming home this month, as if I could have possibly forgotten. Even through the phone I could hear his excitement. I'm excited to see him again! That week could not come soon enough. I'm also dreading that week, as it will be the last time, I see him in a very long time.
It's amazing to me how the launch is now just a month away. I feel like I just got the call offering me a position on this team. Hopefully time will fly as fast as this during the mission. As much as my dreams are all about exploring the icy moon of Jupiter now, but once I am there, I know all my dreams will be of the family I left behind back at home.
I only hope that our team is ready to take on this challenge. Unfortunately, this is the final week we will be training in Huston, and since my conversation with Commander Hunt I've begun to notice all the errors our group is making, especially now that the urgency in training camp has been raised.
With time I have no doubt in my mind that these kinks would be ironed out, but now I'm not so sure. All I can do now is make sure I'm the most prepared I can be and help any of my team members in need.
