The Chinese team has landed. We spotted the bubble their ship used to land this morning. The fact that they landed with a bubble I have a feeling that their mission is meant to be a one-way trip. That method of landing, while less complicated, is typically reserved for rovers or the pieces for space stations like the ones under construction on the moon or Mars.

NASA has ordered we spy on the team. Personally, that makes me a bit uncomfortable. I am an astronaut and a scientist, not some sort of sly government agent. This wasn't a part of the mission description. I feel like our only concern should be the betterment of science, even if it means the Chinese team leading the way.

Lee seems to have less concern about the ethics of the spy mission, which is ideal since he will be using the drones to keep an eye on that crew. To him it's like a little side quest in a video game. I'm glad he's kept that lighthearted energy despite what we've been through. Without him it would certainly be more depressing here.

While Commander Hunt refuses to break character Horvat's personality continues to grow duller and drier. Like all of us the deaths have seemed to take a toll on him as well. It's in his personality to bury himself deeper in work and literature when something is upsetting him.

Other than my messages from home, Lee has become the source of the majority of my smiles out here.
