Sevyn and Von hung around the same people but did not like each other. But they were just cordial. Until Von's birthday came up and Sevyn was the only friend of his that remembered.

Sevyn POV
Los Angeles, California August 9th Sunday, 7:26 p.m.
We finished eating and Von paid for me and my nana's food and I paid for Von. And we went back to my nana's house.
"I'm going to get the cake and candles. You go get his gift." My nana said hanging up her jacket and I went to my room.
I got the box and bag and came to the kitchen where my nana was putting the candles in the middle of the cake. Von lit the candles and I turned off the lights.
We sung happy birthday to him and I took pictures of his cake and what not and he blew out his candles and my nana turned back on the lights.
"Cut me a slice im openin my gifts." Von said pushing me away.
I went over and got a knife, fork, and plate and cut him and my nana and me a slice. I slid him the plate and he opened the bag first. Taking the tissue out.
"Sevyn. Sevyn. Sevyn." He said taking the game out the bag and i laughed.
"You like it?" I asked.
"How much was this?" He said.
"It doesn't matter Von. Open the other one." I said hitting his arm and he started tearing open the other gift. And he saw the box and looked at me.
"What kind of shoes." He said only moving his eyes to look at me and i laughed.
"Jordan's." I said. And he flipped open the lid of the box and moved the tissue paper and saw the black and yellow Jordan 4's and he looked like he stopped breathing.
"Sevyn." He said picking up one shoe and i smiled just seeing him happy about his shoes.
"Thank you. Thank you so much Sevyn." He said pulling me into a hug and i kissed his cheek.
"It's nothing. Really." I said shaking my head and he took a deep breath and looked at me.
"Thank you." He said once more and i laughed.
"Wear those tomorrow." I said.
"Imma tell erbody you bought'em." He said and i shook my head.
"You don't have to do that Von. Just go home. So i can finally be alone." I said shooing him away and he laughed.
"Nah imma stay over a bit longer. And you gone watch this lil movie wit me." Von said picking up my plate and his plate and I rolled my eyes.
We went to my room and he sat on the bed.
"Imma take a quick shower. What are we watching?" I asked giving him the remote and tearing my lashes off.
