Sevyn and Von hung around the same people but did not like each other. But they were just cordial. Until Von's birthday came up and Sevyn was the only friend of his that remembered.

Sevyn POV
Los Angeles, California August 12th Wednesday, 5:30 a.m.
I opened my eyes and looked around. The 5 seconds of just your empty blank brain is so peaceful. And then you remember. Today I would normally have work. I have work every other day if you haven't noticed. But I took off today because every once a month I see my dad. And today is the day.
So after school me and nana are going and driving down to the prison.
I got out of the bed and went straight to the bathroom to do my regular routine.
45 MINUTES LATER, I dried off and put my robe on. I put my moisturizer on and went to the closet to pick out my outfit. I wore this.

I slipped into my sneakers and put on my earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and rings. I clipped back my hair and sat at the vanity.
I started on my makeup when my phone started ringing as i was putting on my foundation. I saw it was a number I didn't recognize. But I picked up anyway.
"Hello?" I said putting the phone on speaker and continuing my makeup.
"Sevyn why you block me?" I heard Von say and I immediately laughed.
"Whose phone are you calling me off of?" I said.
"My phone. I used an app. Stop fuckin playin wit me. Unblock my damn number and my instagram." He said.
"I'm actually not doing anything that was just requested. Strictly because I do not have to." I said spraying setting spray all over my face.
"Ma come on. This ain't fair. You said you would consider what I said." He said.
"Yeah. Consider. As in the answer has not been determined and I am thinking about it. You pressuring me is going to make me not want to consider it at all." I said.
"Ma come on. I want youuuuu." He said.
"I know Von. You keep telling me." I said.
"Aight don't sound like tha. Like im beggin fo yo ass. Don't you like me?" He said.
"Yes Von." I said.
"I like when you say my name ma." He said.
"Oh brother. Bye Von." I said.
"No no. Whatchu doing today? Don't you got work?" He said.
"I would. But I took off. I'm going to visit my dad." I said.
"When you comin back?" He asked.
"Around 7 or so. Why?" I said.
"I wanna see you ma. I'm gonna see you." He said.
"Are you done Von?" I said.
"Fa now. See you at school ma. You doin yo makeup?" He said as I started putting the setting powder on.
"Yes." I said.
"Lemme see." He said and I set up the phone and he looked at me.
"You so fuckin sexy and pretty ma." He said making me laugh and move out the camera shyly.
"Stop why you doin that." Von said.
"Because what is wrong with you?" I said laughing.
"But you sexy ma. I can't wait ta see you." He said.
"Okay Von. Let me finish please." I said.
"Aight ma. Imma see you." He said and I waved and we hung up.
All the compliments Von gives me make me so nervous. I've never really been called "sexy" by someone. It feels so grown.
I finished my makeup and I brushed out my hair and touched up the edges. I got up and looked up in the full length mirror. I went to the kitchen and put the tea in the kettle. The tea is better from the kettle.
I went back to my room and started packing my purse. I got my things and went back to the kitchen and my nana came out her room.
"You look so pretty today." My nana said looking at me making me smile.
"Thank you." I said.
"How was the party?" She asked putting things into her work bag.
"Nana. Oh my goodness." I said shaking my head and she laughed.
"What happened?" She said.
"So I blocked Von yesterday from that situation after school. I just didn't like that. But I saw him he asked me to talk later. We talked later and I'm going to get into that later. But then we saw Asian twerking on some guys." I said as I was checking the kettle.
"See this is what I was talking about. And Von doesn't know but let me tell you." My nana said and I lightly laughed. One thing about my nana she knows some TEA. That lady knows everyone's business but no one knows her.
"Asian has slept with Von friend. You know the one they call Fivio. She slept with a couple of his other friends too. I dont know if Von knows about it. But I do. She slept with Fivio multiple times." My nana said and I held my chest.
"Oh my God." I said.
"And Von only stepped out on her once. He told me. I think the relationship been doomed from the beginning. Asian been cheating on Von." She said.
And this whole time I thought Von was the bad guy. I dont think it makes either of them look good really though. Because why are you guys together if all you guys do is cheat on each other. What is the point of being together?
This is exactly what I was telling Von yesterday. I am not gonna be in a relationship with him and he's cheating on people. If he'll do it to her, he'll do it to me. What makes me different?
I poured the tea into me and my nana's cup and I gave hers to her.
"But nana Asian tried to fight me again. Von stepped in. Pushed her to the ground. She tried to run up again but Von was in the middle. I swung on her and hit her but no one was really letting us fight. And then Von dragged me outside and was begging for me to give him a chance." I summed it up.
"And what are you going to do?" She asked.
"Nana I dont know about dating Von. I know you like him but...it's iffy. I dont want to get hurt." I said.
"But what if you don't." She said.
"I'm just going to base everything off of a what if?" I said.
"Life is what if's baby. You have to take a chance. At least consider it." She said shrugging. Same damn thing Von said. Oh Lord. Now I actually have to think about it.
