Chapter 53: "I Told You I Would Be."

The day is here. The day you've been eagerly waiting for.

BTS is coming back from tour.

Which means Jungkook will be back home within a few hours.
And waiting these few hours feel like such torture you genuinely wonder how you got through waiting so many months for him to come back.

You're excited to see all the BTS members again ofcourse but you can't deny how elated your heart feels to see Jungkook in person again, in particular.

You really have missed him. A lot.

Aaliyah had an earlier flight so she was already back.
You and Hani did the honours of fetching her from the airport.
The three of you squealed in excitement as you had a reuniting group hug.

There were a few happy tears but none of you were willing to admit to it.

It feels like one of the happiest days of your life.

It's your luck that you actually have a week break from University. And today is absolutely not a busy day for you at all. So you and Hami spend the day with Aaliyah.

You can't go to the airport to fetch BTS because they won't be given the same privacy and nonchalance Aaliyah was given. Which means you won't get privacy either.

Your plan is to wait at the dorm for them. To wait at the dorm for Jungkook. You even told Imo that you'd wait to see the members before coming home. Well technically you asked for permission which she gave you.
(It's honestly strange to be in a position again where you have to ask for permission before you do things, the last time you had to do that was with your own parents, but even with the strangeness of it, you find that you enjoy it. Ironically it's freeing in a way. Because now you don't have to be the adult you can just be you.)

The hours tick by yet BTS haven't come back yet. Aaliyah checks something online and tells you about a flight delay because of inclement weather conditions. Signal must not be great either because your messages aren't going through.

What was supposed to be a late afternoon arrival seems like it's going to turn into a late night arrival.

Bad weather must contagious because around 6pm storm clouds make their presence known. There's light rain and random streaks of lightning. You're sure that by tonight it will be worse but you're willing to persevere through the sound of a storm and the memories it brings back, just to see Jungkook.

"You should probably stay over, Yn, with the way the weather's turning," Aaliyah yawns. "I'm really jet lagged so I'm just gonna go to bed. But if you need something you can wake me up."

"Okay, thank you," you smile half heartedly at Aaliyah before laying down on the couch and staring at the time on your phone again.

6.31pm.

Hani left just over an hour ago. She obviously wanted to wait to see Namjoon and she did wait for a while but she didn't want to travel in bad weather and she couldn't stay over because her cousins are visiting so she had to go home.

Aaliyah gives you a smile back and then retreats to her room.

So then it's just you trying to find ways to will away time.

You try to mindlessly scroll through stuff on the internet and that sort of keeps you distracted for a little bit. And then you try watching TV but you can't seem to find anything to watch. So you watch the arms of the clock move extremely slowly on your phone.

It's 8pm when the storm really hits which causes you to pace nervously.

You left your headphones at home, not expecting a need for them when leaving in the morning when the sun was shining brightly.
