"Hey," you wearily greet when Jungkook opens the dorm door.

"Hey," he replies, pecking your forehead as you enter. "You look exhausted."

You longingly stare at the couch in the living room and not even the sound of Jungkook shutting and locking the door snaps you out of your daydream.

"Baby, why is your hair wet?"

"Huh? Oh," you turn around to look at him, ignoring your desire to lie down on the couch and sleep for a few days. "I was up doing work last night and I had an early morning lecture today. I woke up on time for it but I was still sleepy when I was showering and I didn't mean to wash my hair but I kind of did it unthinkingly. Anyway, I didn't have time to blow dry it so I just gathered my hair into a bun and left it like that. That's probably why it's still wet," you explain. "Where is everyone?"

"Yoongi is in his studio, Jimin just went to the bathroom and the rest of them went for lunch at that new BBQ place. Why? Is something wrong? "

"No. Not really. Remember that message I sent on the group chat about the maintenance they're doing in the building and the electricity would be off for a few hours?"

"Yeah?"

"I just came here to remind you guys it was today because nobody read the reminder I sent in the morning. I assumed it was because you had practice scheduled in the morning. "

"Probably. Everyone seemed too tired to look at their phones. But they know about it. We spoke about it in the morning."

"Okay, that's a relief. I know how cranky Hobi gets when he has a cold shower."

Jungkook snorts.

"You know, I read your message. And I responded too," Jungkook adds suddenly.

So you smile at him softly. "I know. " You'd tell him you love him at this exact moment because of the way he's looking at you with gentle eyes and a sweet smile if it didn't feel like the wrong time.

And in all honesty, you're hoping he says it first.

Anyway, if anything could ruin the moment your stomach chooses now to make a sound you're certain only large sealife can make.

It would be embarrassing if Jungkook laughed but you probably would've preferred that over the scathing expression he was giving you now.

He folds his arms, his eyes narrowing at you. His smile disappears.

"So you haven't eaten all day? Again?"

The sheepish grin you give him isn't enough to soften his expression.

"Is it too late to say that wasn't me and that I think there's a whale outside the window?"

He stares at you blankly.

"I did eat today!" You suddenly exclaim remembering your lecture earlier.

"What did you eat?"

Your expression falls again. "A bottle of water and 2 gummy worms." You try to say as proudly as possible. It was something, right?
