My new story! I hope you like it!

Demi woke up by the sun shining through a slight gap in the curtains on her face. She groaned slightly moving her head so it was away from the sun laying there for a couple of moments so she could wake up. Only when she was a little more awake she opened her eyes revealing white walls surrounding her. She sighed slightly remember where she was. She had been given the best welcome she could ask for but she still wished she wasn't here. Here however was better than home. Demi climbed out of her bed wondering over to the wardrobe staring at her naked body in the full length mirror. Most of her bruises had disappeared but Demi could still see the broken girl who just wanted to get better.
"Demi are you awake for your first day of school?" She heard a voice after a knock on the door, she grabbed her robe locking it around her body before opening the door.
"Morning Nate, yes I'm awake." Demi gave him a warm smile.
"You excited?" He inquired leaning against the doorframe.
"It's school, of course I'm not." Demi snapped jokingly Nate only laughing.
"Well I've held the bathroom free for you so go have a shower and get some breakfast." He ordered gently patting her arm before making his way down the hall to wake the other children up.
Demi grabbed the clothes she had set out the night before making her way over to the bathroom locking the door behind her. She switched the shower on so it could heat up a little bit before taking her robe off dumping it in the washing tub to be washed. She checked the temperature of the shower before jumping in. She wet her hair straight away shampooing it, washing that out then conditioning it. She washed her body with shower gel before jumping out wrapping the towel around her body. She wrapped a separate one around her head.
"Come on new girl you've been in there ages!" She heard another voice knowing it was the voice of one of the children who had become her house mates. She was still the oldest child here though being sixteen, she definitely needed her own room.
"I'll be out soon Max, I just need to brush my teeth." Demi stated.
"Fine whatever." He mumbled wondering off.
"Is everyone going to wish Demi a good day at her new school?" Shaun, the boss of the house questioned as he entered the dining area seeing all the kids sat around the table eating breakfast before they headed off towards school. The kids just ignored him carrying on with their conversations, Demi couldn't help but sigh.
"Good day Demi." She heard a voice smiling when she looked to her side seeing the youngest child in the home sat in his booster chair so he could eat at the table.
"Thank you Toby." She replied kissing his cheek.
"They will warm up to you soon." Shaun promised as Demi got up from the table.
"Fat chance anyone will be friends with fatty." Alice taunted everyone in the room laughing besides Demi, the adults and some of the younger children who didn't quite understand. Demi just shook her head leaving the room. She wasn't going to sink down to a fourteen year olds level and retaliate. She picked her bag up swinging it over her shoulders.
"Wait Demi here," She heard looking around seeing Nate holding out a five dollar bill. "Treat yourself to something on the way home and just ignore Alice."
"I will, thanks Nate." Demi gave him a quick hug before leaving the house shutting the door behind her. She had plenty of time until she needed to get to school but she didn't know where she was going for certain. She just wasn't looking forward to her first day, not knowing anyone or where any of her classes were. It was a good place however to get away from her thoughts. Thoughts of self harming.
