Joe opened his eyes when he heard a bang coming from downstairs. He groaned slightly but sat up in the bed seeing the time was just gone half six.
"Demi are you okay?!" He called swinging his legs over the side of the bed when he heard no answer. He stumbled slightly out the room having barely walked all day, he made his way down the set of stairs which led into the kitchen rushing to Demi's side when he saw her laid on the floor. "Demi are you okay? Can you hear me." She didn't respond. He quickly called for an ambulance to come then calling for his mother to come babysit Jayden and Niall but he stayed by Demi's side the whole time wanting to be there if she woke up. He could see the wound on her head which was bleeding and guessed that she had managed to knock herself out on the way down.
"Daddy?" Jayden mumbled Joe looking up, he quickly swooped the boy up in his arms sitting him back down on the couch next to his brother. "Momma." He whimpered.
"Mommy is just sleeping okay, she is okay." Joe assured them both rushing to give them the milk once the microwave had dinged.
"Joe?!" Denise called rushing into the kitchen. "Is she okay?"
"I-I don't know, I just heard a bang and found her like this." Joe mumbled taking hold of her hand, he was starting to get worried that she wasn't coming around.
"Joe you don't look well, I think you need to sit down." Denise urged Joe shaking his head.
"I'm not leaving her, the ambulance will be here soon." He protested moving some hair out of Demi's face kissing her forehead gently.
By the time the ambulance had arrived Denise managed to settle Jayden and Niall into bed so they wouldn't see what was going on and where their parents were going. Demi had come around just moments before the ambulance arrived Joe being there to reassure her that everything would be okay, he continued to stay with her before he couldn't follow any longer at the hospital. He felt bad for her at this time, knowing she didn't even have her parents to be with her, she only had him waiting in the relatives room but he hoped that he showed his love for her enough for the people who decided they didn't want to be in their lives.
"Sir you can be with her now, we're done with our tests," A nurse spoke softly as she entered the room. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah I'm fine thanks but is she?" Joe questioned as he stood up.
"She's fine now, we're just going to check over everything then we'll come let you both know what is the cause." She explained Joe thanking her before they separated Joe entering the room where his girlfriend should be.
"Joe!" Demi mumbled Joe shushing her as he sat down on the edge of her bed wrapping his arm around her. "Are you okay?" Joe laughed kissing the top of her head gently.
"Quit asking if I'm okay, I want to know whether your okay." Joe stated smiling as she snuggled into his side nodding her head.
"I feel okay now, I-I don't remember what happened," She admitted. "Are the boys okay? They didn't see me like that did they?"
"Jayden did a little bit but I moved him before he saw too much." Joe assured her. The room fell silent neither of them speaking again but they didn't need to. As long as they had each other they didn't need to speak to each other. They only looked up from the bed when they heard the door open revealing the doctor who had been looking after Demi. He greeted them before he begun to explain what he had discovered.
"You fainted because you haven't been eating or drinking enough." He spoke in a lectured tone.
"Demi!" Joe scolded but he kept his arm around her, Demi sighed looking over at him.
"I guess with everything that has been happening I've forgotten to eat and drink. I know it's not an excuse, everything has just been too hectic" She expressed.
"There's more." The doctor stated gaining their attention again, they were worried about what he had found but they were trying to stay positive.
"What?" Demi inquired.
"You're pregnant, congratulations." He revealed.
