Joe set the car seat on the case in the back of the car. They had the car seat set up for weeks now just in case she came a little early. Eloise was cooing to herself as her mother climbed in the car sitting in the middle so she was next to the car seat, they weren't sure how she was going to react to the car journey so Demi would be close by to comfort her.
"You okay?" Joe inquired still bent inside the car, Demi nodded her head smiling as they shared a kiss before Joe climbed in the driver's seat, he turned the engine on carefully not wanting the noise to unsettle Eloise who was content in her car seat. "Is she okay?" Demi leaned forward looking at her daughter who was looking around at her surroundings.
"Yeah pull off and we'll see," Joe did as he was told slowly pulling out of the car park keeping an eye on Eloise through the middle mirror his daughter just in his eye view. "I don't think we'll have any problems with car journey's." Demi praised leaning back in her seat again.
"It still doesn't feel real that I have a daughter, feels like I'm taking someone else's baby home and just dropping her off." Joe admitted.
"Oh it feels real to me, I pushed her outta me." Joe laughed getting onto the main roads now paying more attention to the road.
Demi lifted Eloise out of her car seat holding her against her chest Joe wrapping a blanket around her. It was November 21st so it was getting pretty cold and Eloise wasn't a day old yet, she didn't quite know how to regulate her body temperature. Joe led the way up the path opening the door entering first standing in front of Demi and Eloise knowing that Jayden and Niall would run over which they did. Joe put his finger on his lips which made them calm down a little bit.
"She's sleeping, you don't want to wake her up do you." Joe stated the two boys shaking their heads. Joe lifted Jayden up in his arms as they all made their way into the living room Niall running over to Denise who lifted him up on her lap.
"Baby sleeping." Niall warned making them laugh a little bit. Demi sat down on the couch next to Denise moving Eloise gently so she was laid in her arms properly.
"I'll go make drinks." Joe announced sitting Jayden next to Demi.
"What do you think boys?" Demi questioned.
"She's pretty." Niall mumbled watching his sister.
"Why she sleeping, it only six?" Jayden inquired Demi laughing slightly.
"Eloise has to sleep more so she can get big and strong like her big brothers." Demi explained.
"Is everything okay with you both?" Denise inquired Demi answering with just a small head nod admiring her daughter.
Demi wondered downstairs with the baby monitor in her hands after having laid Eloise down, Joe had just seen his mother out after they shared dinner together having take away pizza as a treat. Jayden and Niall were now also in bed and they prayed that Eloise wouldn't wake them up when she needed something.
"Hey is she down?" Joe inquired.
"Yep, it's nice to have some time for ourselves." Demi admitted wrapping her arms around his middle. Joe cracked a small smile kissing her forehead.
"I think we need to talk about earlier Demi." Joe stated.
"What do you mean earlier? We welcomed our daughter to the world." Demi sighed as he forced her to pull away but he took her hand leading her into the living room taking a seat down on the couch not surprised when Bailey joined them.
"That's the point Demi, we welcomed our daughter and a stranger was in the room with us." Joe stated Demi looking over at him.
"My mom isn't a stranger Joe, she's my mom." Demi answered taking her hand away from him. Bailey moved leaving the room with AJ. They could sense the tension.
"Is she though Demi?" Joe asked sternly. "How much of a mother has she actually been towards you?" Demi's eyes moved towards the floor.
"Joe I can't have this conversation now." Demi urged going to stand up but she hissed because of the pain sighing again when he helped her back down.
"I don't want to make you feel bad Demi I promise." Joe breathed kissing the side of her head.
"Doesn't seem like it." Demi mumbled.
