Joe and Demi were wondering down the street in silence, they could tell everything wasn't going to be resolved in just a couple of hours they spend with one another but they wanted to try and make this work so they could continue being parents. They didn't like the idea of sharing their sons of weekends and week days like some families do.
"How is Niall now?" Joe questioned.
"He's still a little fussy but he hasn't brought anything up so I don't think he'll be as bad as Jay," Demi answered looking down at the ground in front of her. "Where are we actually going?"
"I thought we'd get something to eat then I thought we'd go to the carnival." Joe suggested Demi nodding her head gently.
"That sounds like fun." Demi admitted.
"Are you okay? I know it's a stupid question to ask." Demi shrugged her shoulders.
"I don't know what to think about it, in a way I wanna be mad at you but another part of me can't be because I still love you so much."
"I don't blame you Demi, what I did wasn't nice and I'm surprised you even agreed to come out with me tonight." Joe admitted.
"I just wanna try and figure this out for the boys to be honest, if it wasn't for our sons I'd probably be reacting the complete opposite." Demi admitted back.
"If you don't want us to be together then is there any point in trying?" Joe questioned.
"I do want us to be together Joe, I just can't cope with the thoughts of you with another woman." Demi ran her fingers through her hair as Joe sighed. He wanted to comfort her but he knew that probably wasn't best.
"I didn't intentionally wake up this morning deciding that I'm going to cheat on you with another woman Demi. It's not like that, I couldn't ever imagine doing that to you because I love you too. What happened today was a mistake, a terrible mistake on my behalf and I want to try and fix my mistake." Joe expressed.
"Well then let's cheer up a little bit and have a good time. It's been a while since we've had some time to ourselves." Demi stated Joe cracking a smile kissing the side of her head.
"Do you want desert?"Joe questioned after the waitress took away their plates, Demi groaned slightly making Joe laugh handing her the menu. She had been trying to keep healthy after giving birth not wanting to go back to any old habits but she had been doing so well she though she deserved a treat after so long.
"I kinda want chocolate cake but I don't know if I should have a full slice." Demi admitted.
"Then we'll share, does that make you happy?" Joe suggested Demi grinning nodding her head putting the menu down Joe telling the waitress as she came back to bring one slice of cake but with two forks. Demi was surprised how normal things got between them compared to their walk here where it was a little tense but she did need to know what happened.
"What was this woman's name?" Demi questioned Joe sighing.
"Demi we don't have to talk about this..." Joe begun but Demi soon interrupted him.
"I want to know what happened Joe, it will help me forgive you." Demi urged Joe sighing once again nodding his head gently.
"Her name was Alison, she wasn't young but gosh she was pushy," Demi couldn't help but giggle Joe smiling. "She clearly came for something, the only way I escaped her was going into the staff locker room." Demi looked at the table.
"Was she good?"
"I didn't have sex with her Demi and to be honest no she was a horrible kisser."
"The only reason I'm not taking you back at the moment is out of fear you'll do it again, I only have so much in me Joe." Joe sighed nodding his head. He could understand that.
