"You wanna come over and do homework since I have the house to myself?" Joe questioned as he exited the school holding onto Demi's hand. They both said their goodbyes to Nick and Willa before they went the opposite way in the direction of Joe's house but also the care home. Joe just didn't want to be alone, he liked to have people around him.
"Sure, I'll just message Nathan." Demi stated taking her hand from his getting her phone out her bag sending a quick message to Nathan. She was very free on what she could do after school and on a weekend as long as she let someone know and as long as she was home by nine on a weekday and ten on a weekend. She wasn't planning to get fostered or adopted by anyone. She was just going to move out as soon as she could maybe with Joe if they were still together and thought they were at their step in their relationship.
"What time does your mom usually get home?" Demi inquired.
"Eight but she'll be there when we get back but will have to leave soon later." Joe explained taking hold of her hand again.
"I'm proud of you." Demi stated Joe looking down at her a little confused, Demi couldn't help but laugh when she looked up at him.
"For what?" He questioned again.
"You haven't had a fag since this morning." Demi kissed his cheek gently before his mouth covered into a smile squeezing her hand gently.
"I find it easy at school actually, my mind is distracted more. It's when I get bored I smoke more," Joe admitted, he was determined to stop not just for his health but because he knew nobody around him liked it and he didn't want to disappoint anyone. "Does this mean I get a kiss?" Demi giggled again leaning up kissing him gently but pulled away before he could kiss back and get anymore from her. His mouth just formed a pout. "Come on you big baby."
Joe and Demi made it back to Joe's house spending a little time with Denise before she headed off to work, she'd be able to work better knowing that Joe would be safe at home. Joe and Demi got started on their homework straight away so they could have the rest of the night to themselves, Joe was smart and able to get the grades he was predicted. It was just the act he was putting on before preventing him from achieving his full potential.
"Sometimes I wish mom didn't work nights, we don't get to spend a whole lot of time together." Joe admitted as he wrote down his answer.
"You should talk to her, she might be able to get some time off so you can do something. I know if my mom was still around I'd want to spend time with her." Demi suggested looking up at him seeing that he was concentrated.
"I guess, it's nearly exam time so after that it will be summer. We'll have plenty of time then." Joe answered shutting his book putting it back in his backpack but grabbed a different book, they were getting a lot with it being so close to exams.
"Have any idea what you want to do?" Demi questioned.
"When I started high school I wanted to go into the army," He laid his hand on her arm when she tensed up against him. "I'm not now, smoking probably ruined that for me. My mom has a friend who owns a gym, I'm going there to be a intern." Joe explained.
"That sounds good, what will you do there?"
"Just a little bit of everything, I'll mainly be a trainer, helping people and so on but they'll be other bits I have to do like cleaning and on the reception desk," Joe answered. "What are you going to do?" Demi looked up at him.
"I'm not sure yet, I had a idea which I need to think about more before I tell anyone." She teased slightly but smiled when he kissed her gently.
