Eighty Eight

"Okay boys daddy is going to do his work now so you can't disturb him." Demi lectured softly both Jayden and Niall nodding their head in agreement that they wouldn't disobey their mom. Demi kissed their foreheads helping them sit at the dining room chair so they could do some crafts. Jayden and Niall had plenty to play with since Demi's day care was in their home.

"Daniel is coming today boys." Demi announced laughing as they cheered.

"Daniel my favourite." Niall giggled.

"So is Lucie and Zara." Demi looked after any ages but she never really got any children over the age of seven, they would get dropped off at the house after school and picked up at six when the day care ended. She had offered to keep some of the children for longer if the parents needed it. She also looked after infants. Joe would get distracted at times and come out the study to join in but often or not Demi caught him and demanded he goes back to study. Jayden and Niall enjoyed Demi's job, it meant they had friends to play with. Joe and Demi liked that they were socialising at such a young age, they knew how to share already.

"Me see daddy?" Jayden questioned.

"Daddy is working remember, we can't bother him," Demi lifted him up sitting him back down on the chair giggling as he crossed his arms over his chest pouting. "Definitely your father's son." Demi kissed his head sitting down with them. They used to say that Joe wasn't here so they wouldn't disturb him but they soon figured them out.

"Hi Lucie!" Demi cooed as she jumped up into her arms. "Wave to mommy." The three year old waved to her mom as she left to go to work. Demi put her back on the floor holding her hand as they entered the room which has been transformed into a play room. Demi had all the children she was to look after today until after school.

"Niall is over there if you want to play with him." Demi stated watching as Lucie ran away. It was raining outside so they were unable to go out but often enough Demi took them out where they had a climbing frame and a bunch of toys. AJ and Bailey would spend most of the day with Joe having a walk in the morning by Demi Joe taking them around lunchtime then again in the evening by whoever was free. They sometimes played with the kids if they didn't have some really young children in, they were both great with children.

Joe only came out the study at lunch time when he had a break himself but he often helped Demi make lunch for the children sitting down with them all to eat. He kissed Demi before starting to fill the bread that she had already buttered. Jayden and Niall were too distracted to know their dad was here but he'd sit with them at dinnertime.

"How's the essay going?" Demi questioned.

"It's going alright I guess, boring." Joe mumbled making her laugh.

"It will be worth it in the end." Demi assured him. Demi found her job very exciting. It was something different everyday and that's what she loved the most.

"I know, I just wish I could just be there already." Joe admitted.

"I know you do," Demi answered kissing his cheek gently. "How are AJ and Bailey?"

"They're not in the study, I presumed they were with the kids," Joe answered looking down at her the two of them dropping what they were doing entering the play room where a group of kids were seeing that neither AJ or Bailey were there. "I'll look upstairs." Joe made his way upstairs checking every room until he came across the room he shared with Demi. He saw AJ and Bailey in the corner where they often slept. He approached them kneeling down by them stroking them both but AJ was sleeping not even realising that he had entered the room.

Joe knew instantly something was wrong.
