Demi rushed back home as soon as she could that night wanting to get to back as soon as possible. She might have to convince Nathan or Sean to allow Joe to take her out tonight. She was really starting to like him and didn't want to text him saying that she couldn't be with him tonight. She wanted to see him again already, she didn't like the thought of him being at home where his step father could hurt him.

"Nathan!" Dem shouted soon seeing him appear in the doorway.

"What's wrong?" Nathan questioned seeing that she was out of breath.

"Can a boy take me out? please I really like him." Demi begged slightly looking up at the man who had tried to give her the best start in her new life. She hadn't told anyone about what happened last night, she had promised Joe she wouldn't and she'd keep to that.

"I don't know Demi, it's a school night and since when do you like a boy?" Nathan questioned as they made their way into the kitchen.

"Since yesterday and he likes me too, please Nathan." Demi pleaded Nathan sighing as he looked at the girl basically batting her eyelashes at her giving him what is known as the puppy dog look. He groaned nodding his head.

"Fine but you have to be back by ten and be quiet of the other children," Nathan gave in laughing as Demi squealed giving him a hug. "But you have to get your homework done before you even think about going out." Nathan lectured as she pulled away.

"I'll do it now!" Demi exclaimed.

"To your potential!" He called after her.

Demi sighed as she saw Joe approach her already seeing a cut on his forehead just above his eyebrow. He wrapped his arms around her middle as she leaned up running her finger over it gently. He winced slightly but remained calm as Demi wiped some of the blood away. She then kissed him Joe kissing back until they both pulled away.

"He got one in after mom left but before I did." Joe mumbled.

"I'm sorry Joe, I wish I could make it better for you." Demi spoke wrapping her arms around his neck as the embraced each other.

"It's okay, as long as I still get to see you." Joe grinned.

"Your such a flirt but a cute flirt." Demi giggled kissing him gently Joe kissing back smiling through the kiss. It had been a while since he remembered being this happy. Whenever he was with Demi the feelings that he got from his father seemed to melt away, she put his mind of him and that's what he wanted. Joe pulled away laying his forehead on hers.

"I hope you like sushi." Joe stated as he pulled away from her but took her hand locking their fingers together as they walked.

"Why are we going for it?" Joe nodded his head. "I like sushi."

"Good otherwise it's a long walk to McDonalds." Demi giggled squeezing his hands. He liked the person he had become, she hoped he'd stick around.

"Are you looking forward to spending the weekend with your dad?" Demi questioned looking up at him as he nodded his head.

"Yeah it will be fun, I haven't seen him in a while, he's been busy with work. It will be nice to spend some father son time together." Joe admitted.

"When did you last see him?" Joe shrugged his shoulders.

"Nearly a month, my sisters see him a lot though with the kids. I just never get round to going." Joe stated holding the door open for her as they entered the sushi bar Demi thanking him as she entered. She would of liked to spend the weekend with him but she knew Joe seeing his father was something that he needed to do. To keep their relationship close.
