"Do you have to be anywhere at the moment?" Sean questioned confusing Joe slightly but he shook his head gently. "Wait here a moment, I won't be long." Joe sighed as he watched Sean leave the room the door closing behind him, Joe just hoped he was sorting something out so Gary would be punished for everything he had done over the years. Joe looked up again when the door opened again about ten minutes later Sean entering again with Nathan but was surprised when he saw his mother follow behind them both.

"Mom what are you doing here?" Joe questioned Denise kissing his hair taking the seat next to him as Sean sat down in his chair Nathan staying stood up by his side.

"Thanks for coming, I know it's getting late. Joe told me what had been going on at home, I presume you were aware?" Denise sighed nodding her head gently taking Joe's hand. She could sense how overwhelmed he was.

"He beats me sometimes too more now that Joe has been staying with my daughter." Denise admitted herself squeezing Joe's hand when he tensed up.

"There is a charity I guess you could say that help men and women going through domestic abuse like you where the police can't gather up enough evidence. I could pass the information on?" Sean suggested but he could see the worry on her face as she looked at her son. "Joe would have to come into care until he's eighteen."

"Would we still get to see each other and would I still get to see my daughters and Grandchildren?" Denise questioned.

"I'm afraid only on occasion, you'll basically be in hiding so you could phone and the rest but visits would be limited." Sean answered.

"Mom no, we'll run away or something." Joe urged taking his hand back from her.

"You still wouldn't be safe Joe, this is something that would be better for both of us," Denise sighed looking at her son who was looking down at the floor playing with his fingers. She knew it was what she had to do not just to make herself safe but for her son knowing that he would be safe, she looked over at Sean nodding her head gently.

"Make a room up for Joe." Sean told Nathan who left straight away.

"No! I'm not staying here!" Joe exclaimed shrugging his mom off him leaving the room slamming the door behind him. He was about to leave the front door when someone grabbed his hand. He knew it was Demi's touch. He turned around to her letting the tears fall down his cheeks.

"Come on." She whispered.

Demi sat down next to Joe on the swing bench keeping her arm around him as he leant forward in the chair covering his face with his hands. Demi rubbed his back gently as he continued to cry. He didn't want to be separated from his mother, not when he was going to become a father. They needed her advice and he wanted her around throughout the pregnancy and to meet his children when they arrived into their worlds.

"What's going on?" Demi questioned Joe taking his time but he sat up again wiping away the couple of tears that were still on his soft cheeks.

"M-Mom is going away to some charity and I have to stay here until I'm eighteen," Joe explained Demi sighing continuing to rub his back. "I wouldn't mind but I won't even get to see her often, I don't like that idea."

"I'm sure it's for the best Joe and she's doing it because she thinks it is. It's not so bad here and we'll only be here until after summer. When we're eighteen we can leave." Demi encouraged wanting to make him feel better about the situation but she knew it would be hard. He loved his mother but he knew deep down it was for the best.

"I-I just want everything to be normal, I wish Gary never came into our lives." Joe mumbled laying his head on her shoulder Demi cracking a small smile kissing his hair.
