Seventy

Even though Demi didn't want to go to sleep until she had met her sons she had fallen asleep on the bed Joe allowing her knowing how tired she must be after going through what she had done. Joe was tired too but he would stay awake in case the midwife came back to tell them about their sons or even to meet them. Demi had only been asleep for about half an hour when there was a knock on the door but even then she remained asleep. Ashley entered the room with bundles of blankets in her arms. Joe couldn't help but smile knowing his sons were in there.

"She'd want me to wake her up." Joe stated before she could even suggest that she came back later. He leaned over shaking her gently but he was gently not wanting to startle her as she woke up from her slumber. "You want to meet our little boys?" Demi cracked a small smile nodding her head as she allowed Joe to help her sit up, she'd ache for a couple of days but that was normal. Ashley came closer laying their youngest son in Demi's arms Joe taking their eldest.

"Are they both okay?" Demi inquired having to hold back her tears as she met her son for the first time. He was so tiny, she found it hard to believe that she was holding the same baby that she just yesterday felt kick along with his brother.

"Your youngest son, the one Demi is holding, is a little smaller than his brother but it's nothing to worry about, he'll put the weight on soon enough. There aren't any problems as of yet but we like to keep babies in for a while to make sure they don't show any signs of problems. Have you any names yet?"Joe shook his head gently.

"We haven't discussed it much yet with wanting to meet them first." Joe answered as he admired his son, he was close to tears himself. The young boy was sleeping but he could already see that he had Demi's nose and mouth. He could see a little bit of his dark hair colour sprouting out of his head, he had no doubt that they both looked just like their parents.

"That's fine, just let us know when you've decided and we'll get their birth certificate sorted, they've both had a bottle but your welcome to breast feed when they next want feeding. A Midwife will assist you. Call if you need anything." They both thanked her before she left the room closing the door quietly behind her.

"How is he?" Demi questioned looking behind at her boyfriend able to see the top of their eldest son's head, she couldn't believe how much she loved them both already.

"He's good aren't you little man." Joe cooed.

"How about you name this guy and I'll name the one you're holding?" Demi suggested Joe nodding his head gently thinking about it carefully before he spoke again.

"Meet Niall William Jonas." Joe spoke a smile on his face Demi soon smiling again as she heard the name of her son for the first time.

"That is a beautiful name," Demi complemented. "I think I wanna call our oldest son Jayden Adam Jonas." Their smiles only got wider as they both agreed the names they had come up with were what suited their sons the best.

"They're gonna be best friends." Joe cooed leaning down kissing Jayden's head then leaning over kissing Niall's head.

"Maybe when they're adults, they'll probably annoy each other throughout their childhood." Demi joked smiling as they shared a kiss.

"I just can't believe they're here." Joe admitted.

"Neither can I, oh look he's going to sleep." Demi cooed at the boy in her arms.

"Let's lay them down and get some rest for ourselves." Joe suggested laying Jayden down in the plastic crib next to the hospital bed gently taking Niall from Demi laying him down next to his twin brother. He shared a kiss with Demi before he slumped down on the couch all four of them settling down for a well needed rest.

Jayden Adam Jonas and Niall William Jonas were born on the first day of the year and we're perfectly fine and healthy sleeping in the crib next to Demi's bed.
