Demi was sat outside Joe's room refusing to be seen to until she knew Joe was going to be okay. She was by herself at the moment but she knew Jenna, Beth and Sarah were on their way and hopefully Denise if they were able to get hold of her. Demi looked down the hallway when she heard her name being called, she let out a small sob when she heard she saw Nathan coming towards her. She felt safe in his arms when he hugged her but nowhere near as safe as if it were Joe giving her the hug. She cried into his shirt but all she could see as her eyes were closed was Joe laid on the floor looking so vulnerable and weak. She had never seen him like that before and she didn't really want to see him like that again. Nathan shushed her gently keeping his arms locked around her.

"How is he?" Nathan questioned but only when she had calmed down a little bit.

"I don't know, they haven't told me anything." Demi mumbled pulling away from him wiping away a couple of tears but they were soon replaced.

"The police found Gary trying to flee the country. Neither you or Joe have to worry about him anymore, the judge would have to be stupid not to put him away for this." Nathan reassured her rubbing her arm gently.

"Good," Demi choked. "But that doesn't stop everything that he's done, he could have hurt our boys as well as Joe."

"But he didn't okay, Joe will make it through this then you can all be a happy family when the babies arrive," Nathan tried to make her look at the positives Demi sighing nodding her head. She laid a hand down on her bump as she felt the sharp pain again. "Are you okay?"

"I've just been having sharp pains, they're getting worse." Demi mumbled.

"I think you need to be seen to Demi." Nathan encouraged Demi shaking her head as her eyes moved to the door she knew Joe was behind fighting for his life.

"I'm not leaving him, if he dies he's not gonna do it alone." Demi insisted.

"What if something is seriously wrong with the boys Demi, you need to be seen to so nothing bad happens to them." Demi sighed looking to the floor his time nodding her head holding his hand as he reached out for it.

"What kind of pain is it?" Alex questioned as he felt around her bump to see if anything was wrong. She was only twenty five weeks long so he was ruling labour out at the moment or at least until Demi had given him more details on how the pain was. Labour would not be the best time at the moment, babies had survived at twenty five weeks but the odds weren't high.

"It's like sharp pain." Demi mumbled.

"And is it constant or does it go away and come back?" He questioned again.

"It comes and goes." Demi knew as she was answering the questions what it was. She looked over at Alex who had done a lot for her and her sons since she was just a few weeks along in her pregnancy. She knew it was labour, she couldn't be in labour now.

"I think what your experiencing is an early labour." He spoke as he looked up at her.

"How is he?" Jenna questioned as the doctor left the room that she knew her little brother was in. Beth and Sarah had joined her and Denise was on her way after they had managed to contact her, she'd be able to be back around now Gary was locked away and would be for a good amount of years if not for the remainder of his life. Paul was also making his way to town also having heard what had happened to his son. They all wanted to be there for him.

"His heart gave out on him but we managed to bring him back, we need his mother's permission but if it happens again we will not bring him back. It's not right to let him suffer."

"What are you trying to say?" Beth dared to ask.

"Prepare yourselves for the worst case scenario." He spoke the sympathy oozing from his tone.
