"I'll meet you at the gates in the morning." Joe stated as he exited the house, he hadn't stayed long with it being late but they'd see each other at school tomorrow. Demi nodded her head gently leaning up kissing him gently Joe kissing back before they pulled away from each other. Joe waved at her as he made his way back down the path, Demi only shut the door when he was out of sight. Joe took a stroll home knowing his mom might not be home yet, he was trying to avoid Gary as much as he could, he had his bag over his shoulder. He was looking forward to being home again with Demi and his mom but he'd miss his dad. When Joe got home he slipped his shoes off surprised when he didn't see Gary sat on the couch drinking his life away, instead his mother appeared Joe meeting her halfway giving her a hug.
"How was it?" Denise questioned rubbing his back before they both pulled away.
"Yeah it was fun, where's Gary?" Joe questioned as he slumped down on the couch, he didn't sit down here often. He preferred to relax in his room.
"He's gone away for a week with friends." Denise answered sitting down next to him, she could see the relief on his face that he was gone for the week and he wouldn't have to worry about him doing anything. She was too. Joe smiled when she begun to stoke his hair, he leaned his head on her shoulder so she didn't have to reach. She smiled too kissing his head. She'd rather it be just the two of them, the only man she needed in her life was her son.
"Have you seen Jenna, Beth and Sarah?"
"Yeah they came over with the kids earlier, everyone wanted to see their uncle Joey." Joe only smiled more, he loved kids. He was too young to have his own at the moment but his nieces and nephews gave him enough fun.
"I might go over in the week, maybe not Sarah's house, she lives a little far away." Joe answered sitting up straight again.
"We'll go over to her house at the weekend then," Denise suggested kissing his cheek gently. "You should get some sleep ready for school tomorrow."
"Okay goodnight." Joe spoke before getting up kissing her cheek this time before heading upstairs into his bedroom collapsing down on the bed when he had stripped into his boxers. The moment he shut his eyes he fell asleep.
Joe made his way to the gate that morning seeing that Demi was already waiting for him with Willa and Nick, he was a little late having a lay in but not late enough to miss the bell. He kissed her gently before grabbing her hand the three of them making their way up the path and into the school where is was a little warmer.
"How is your dad?" Nick questioned walking next to him Willa the other side of Demi having a conversation with her.
"Remarried." Joe answered making Nick laugh.
"Mom said he had done, is she nice?"
"Yeah she was and she has a daughter a year younger than I am, still have no brother." Joe complained feeling Demi squeeze his hand gently. He knew she wanted to know if anything happened last night, they'd just have to talk alone.
"Nick come with me to my locker?" Willa questioned Nick nodding his head wondering away with her leaving Joe and Demi alone.
"How was it last night?" Demi questioned as they stopped against Demi's locker Joe taking her other hand as he back was against the locker.
"He's gone away for a week so it's just me and mom." Joe stated leaning down to kiss her but Demi moved her face so he kissed her cheek.
"That's good but I'm not kissing you anymore if you've had a fag." She laughed when he groaned.
