Chapter 6: I Need Advice

Jay's POV

I was about to leave when Nya yelled for me.

"Jay!"

"Yes, Nya?"

"Don't forget your nunchucks."

"Th-Thanks."

"I have something else to say"

"What is it?"

"Can you help me......"

"Help you with what?"

"Nothing. Never mind."

"No, tell me. What were you going to ask?" I wanted her to know that she could talk to me about anything.

"This might sound weird, but..... How do you ask someone out on a date?" I wasn't the one she should be asking. I didn't know the first thing about asking people out. I was still trying to build up the courage to ask her out.

"Ummm..... By ummmm....... Asking them?"

"But how? Like how do you word it?"

"Ummmm... Ummm.... You..... Why don't you ask Kai?"

"I would, but he'd freak out." She was right.

"Well...... You really shouldn't ask me."

"Why?" Because I didn't know how to word it myself. Because anytime I tried I'd feel so many butterflies in my stomach that it would get to the point where I felt sick. Because no matter how hard I tried it never sounded right.

"I... I.... I'm just not the right choice. You should ask someone a bit more familiar with this stuff. Like Cole."

"I can't ask him."

"Why?" I was extremely curious.

"Because.... Because..... I just can't."

"But why can't you? Cole's very capable of helping you."

"Look can you just help me out?" I nodded.

"Speak from the heart. Tell them how you feel. If they don't feel the same way about you then maybe their not the one. Do that and it'll be perfect." Like you.

I sighed. Why couldn't I just take my own advice? Why couldn't I not constantly worry about saying it wrong? Why couldn't I just tell her how I felt?

"Thanks, Jay. That helps a lot. You really are a good friend."

Friend. Who knew a single word could hurt someone so much?

I began to join the rest of the team when Nya yelled, "Jay! Your nunchucks!"

I quickly grabbed them. "Thanks," I yelled as I ran off in a rush.
