Lloyd's POV

"It says nothing about where the four fangblades are hidden. Have our ancestors left us nothing? Where are they?" I overheard Scales ask.

"Sorry to interrupt, but what are fangblades?" I asked, nudging Pythor.

"This here. This must be a clue. "When five fangs untie as one, the path toward the devourer has begun," Pythor said. I sighed. I didn't like being ignored, but I'd gotten used to it. It was best for me not to interrupt. But I still had an important question.

"What's the devourer?" I asked. Pythor sighed.

"Please, stop interrupting."

"But the devourer sounds like some kind of monster! I don't like monsters." He chuckled.

"But don't you want more henchmen? And aren't you a monster yourself?" I gave him a confused look.

"Monster? Me? I'm a human. Not a monster."

"I meant as in your morals. Now, please, no more interruptions." I nodded.

"Why do you still keep the child? He is merely a nuisance. And he is not even showing any signs of what you said," the venomari general said. I stared at the floor.

"I'm not a nuisance," I whispered. I didn't know what the word meant, but I was pretty sure it was an insult.

"There are still signs. You just don't notice them," Pythor said.

"Signs for what?" I asked, "Those weird powers of green and gold?" Pythor groaned.

"Floyd, I told you no more interruptions!"

"Sorry," I said. He sighed.

"We have already united, so what do we do now?"

"Whatever it is we have to find it out soon. The others will begin to ask questions, and soon they will start to think you don't know what you are doing," Scales said.

"I know what I'm doing, fool! I'm trying to unleash the great devourer! Legend-"

"D-Did you say great devourer?" I asked. I'd heard of the great devourer before. It was this giant snake that ate everything and everyone.

"That's the last strike!" Pythor yelled. He quickly hit me with his tale. I screamed.

"I am not telling you this again! Now go to the corner!" Pythor yelled, pointing to a cage he'd named the corner.

I sighed and walked in. I didn't like it in there, but Pythor said that if I didn't do whatever he said he'd end our friendship. I didn't want to lose another friend. Then I'd be alone.
