Ch-90

Rimuru's POV

As we were waiting in my room, the letter that Ciel, Chloe and I had obtained, suddenly flew into the sky and disappeared into smoke with a poof. Soon after, a portal opened up front of us.

"Is that the portal?" Chandra asked.
"Not sure." I reply. Just as I was wondering whether to go through or not, the from lords ring started to glow.

"You all have to go through the portal to arrive at the Awakening of Gods ceremony. This time around, there will be many more Gods, so don't let your guard down." Veldanava talked to us through Milim's ring.

"Well, you heard him. Let's get going." I say as I stood up. Shion and Diablo, who were behind me also got ready. The demoness trio and Valora also got up and prepared to go through the portal.

As all of us passed through the portal, I was expecting to arrive in a large room hosting a ball or something, like the last time, but we came to a room which was so large that it's end couldn't be seen. It was filled with lines upon lines of clothes, all on display.

There were two servants, who looked like a butler and a maid standing in front of us.

"Welcome to the Awakening of Gods ceremony. Please choose a dress to your liking for the ceremony. In case of something that catches your eye, please do not hesitate to tell me." The butler said.

"Why do we have to choose from among them. Are our clothes not alright?" Chandra asked. She was suspicious of what we were told. And I wouldn't deny that. It wouldn't be far-fetched if the clothes had some sort of hidden weapons, especially considering that Chandra and others are currently in enemy territory.

"That is to keep an eye on your vitals during the Awakening of Gods ceremony. If you do wish, you can just attach this to your clothes. That will suffice as well." The butler said as he handed all of us what seemed to be a microchip.

"What do you think dear?" Ciel asked me. All the others were also looking at me. Even though I was not their actual leader, since I was the one who brought them here, they somehow made me the leader, at least till the time they meet Yggdrasil.

"Hmmm.... To tell you the truth, it doesn't really matter. If we have to put this microchip on regardless, we might as well choose a dress that suits us. If you don't find anything to your liking, you can always just take the this and attach it to your clothes."

"I will lead you to the ladies section." The maid said as she heard that we had decided to atleast to look around.

"If you want any specific type of clothings, feel free to ask me. I will prepare them at once." The butler said. Hearing this, the humans from the other world started giving out their preferences.

Seeing that, I decided to look around. Diablo decided to silently follow me, so I paid him no mind. As I was looking around, I found many interesting things. Not only did the clothes come in all colour and sizes, they had different shapes as well. Some clothes were small enough, that only Ramiris in her pixie form could ever hope to fit in it, while another was so large, that it would most probably be larger than bedsheets we use. Since suits had slits on their back, most probably to accommodate wings.

Till here, the clothes were still somewhat predictable, but what I saw next was completely out of my imagination. There were clothes even for four legged creature and reptiles. I couldn't see them as anything but clothes that a pet owner would buy for their powers during winter to keep them warm.

Some even came with slime on the inside. These clothes were for those whose skin was made of water, or produced mucus. Their were even clothes for what I could only assume oversized insect.

Before I could get caught up in this anymore, I decided to promptly head back and choose something to wear.

"What about you, Diablo? Are you not going to choose anything?" I ask him.

"No, my lord. The clothes that I am wearing currently will more than suffice." Diablo said.

The clothes that Diablo was wearing right now was a piece of equipment whose defence was directly proportional to the wearer's magicule count. It was originally developed by humans to act as a strong armor for their magicians. Later on, it was improved upon by shuna and Kaijin and became something that meant everyone wore.

Ciel had managed to go another step ahead and managed to infuse this property into strings and yarns, which made it possible to knit clothes which had the same property as an Armor, much like my clothes or the butler outfit that Diablo was wearing.

"Has anything caught your eye?" The butler who was till now helping the others appeared behind me. Though he walked without making a sound, he wasn't hiding his presence, so I already knew he was coming.

"Not really. Well, many caught my eye, but I doubt they will be a better fit for me than what I am currently wearing." I said.

The butler then used analysis on my clothes before finally speaking again.

"That's true. The clothes are sewn by an enchanted string. Though applying mana and infusing the string with it is a simple task, but to integrate that mana into runes and infusing them is without a doubt a tedious and difficult task. I doubt any clothes here will be able to match that quality."

"Exactly, so I'll just take the chip."
"Yes, here you go." The butler said as he handed me one, which I attached to the sleeves of my clothes. The chip turned completely invisible and blended right into the clothes.

"I assume he won't be needing one." I asked as I pointed at diablo.

"No, my lord. As he is a servant, he is not eligible to awaken, and as such, he will not be monitored." The butler explained.

I just nodded and followed to where the others were. All the boys had chosen something or the other, but it was, at the end, a final dress, be it a suit or a tuxedo. They didn't seem to be all that comfortable to move around, but whatever floats their boats, I guess.

Once the butler had seen that we had all gotten ready, he started to take us back to the place where we had seperated from the girls.

"It seems like they will require some time. Why not sit down and make yourself comfortable?" The butler said, noticing that the girls had yet to return. He pointed towards a small indent in the wall, that had done couches and mirror. It was a small room, which looked completely out of place in the large dressing room.

As we all sat down, the boys started talking to each other. They were all speaking in different languages, languages foreign to me. The only one whom I was able to understand was Arun, who was speaking in English. But occasionally, even he would speak in a foreign language.

After becoming independent of the VOTW, one of the biggest problem was most definitely language. Luckily, I had learnt the language used in Cardinal World before hand, but as I have no idea what language they are speaking in, I have no clue what they are taking about. They all had some sort of device plucked into their ears, which I can only assume to be a translator.

I hope you guys like it. Unfortunately, my exams are right around the corner and I need to study😭😭 so I won't be uploading till 10th July. I will try to post atleast one chapter between then and now, but yeah. Going to be tough. So yeah. Anyways, I will start uploading normally from 10th. I hope you guys understand.
